Pre Match | Everton vs. Liverpool | PL Matchday 5 | Saturday October 17th 12:30h | Goodison Park

Not even nervous for this one.

Not sure why my hands are shaking. Must be some other malady.

Shaqiri. Interesting choice.

I see 4-2-3-1 as a almost natural formation now but who would play that central role is the big question I feel.

Getting really nervous already

Obviously going to be interesting to see who we pick at CB, but especially in central midfield. Also, we’re getting bodies back now, so our bench should be really strong. Can see Divock dropping from the bench more when that’s the case.

I suspect Virgil will want revenge on Richarlison after he dribbled past him once,i bet Virgil hasn’t got over it so he’ll be well up for it.

Maybe
But Minamino in the Shaqiri position

Could there be a surprise tomorrow… JK said Alisson has recovered quicker than expected.

I fucking hate these cunts. I fucking hate derbies. No matter how many times we put them back in their box that feeling of dread returns whenever we play them. Because a win for us is just 3 points and life goes on. A win for them and they’ll all be crawling out from under their fucking rocks and shouting the odds again, just like they always do before it all inevitably goes tits-up, again.
This time I think the international break has done us a favour. We can almost field a side who haven’t kicked a ball in anger all week. My starting 11 would include Adrian, Trent, Gomez, Robbo, Milner, Tiago, Mane and Salah. Only VVD, Hendo (15 minutes) and Jota would have played midweek. Even if JK goes with Bobby and Fabinho over Jota and Milner it’s not too bad. I hope he doesn’t though, these games are made for James Milner and Bobby badly needs a rest.
As for the Ev their players wont be used to playing midweek- Saturday- midweek etc. 2 of their likely starters played in South America on Wednesday morning and another missed the game through injury.
Digne was supposedly injured playing for France and I wont mind for one minute if him and Mina start carrying knocks.
We need to win the midfield battle and Hendo and Milner will offer more protection to our full-backs than Keita and Gini would do. Tiago to pull the strings and having all 3 on the pitch should allow Trent and Robbo to get at their full-backs.
My only concern is Adrian. Just keep the fucking ball away from him as much as possible. 10 days ago I’d have taken a point but with players back and rested that should be the minimum return.
Up the fucking mighty Reds!!

Mina and Digne are both expected to be fit for tomorrow.

Is it mind games from the Bitters.

I know, and I’ll be happy if they play. All the travel, carrying knocks, up against Salah and Mane…I’ll take that.

If The Boss has one blind spot…it’s Ancelotti. I’ve always felt like he gives him way too much respect and has always played things very conservative when facing his sides. Similar to when we play at Old Trafford under JK.

EDIT: as far as Adrian, I’ll again state what I put in another thread. I have zero expectations for him. None. I see him as comedic relief and If we win any match with Adrian, it will be a complete bonus. I was listening to Football Ramble podcast today and they posited this is a “bigger match” for Liverpool than it is Everton. What?! That’s a REALLY dumb thing to say. There will be 33 matchdays after tomorrow, for a total of 99 points up for grabs. Win or lose tomorrow, I think we have plenty of time to be ok.

To all of you living in Liverpool, stay safe from Covid. On topic, I believe our guys will be itching to show the Villa result was an outlier.

Perfect game for a reaction! I’d start Jota in place of Firmino, give Bobby a rest, and let Jota continue to show us what he can do - he played well and scored for Portugal whilst on international duty.
Will we see Alisson back in goal? Klopp was really upbeat about his progress.
Too early to smoke my pipe, but it will be in use!

Come on you mighty Reds!!!
3pts please!

Reasonably comfortable with this one.
Reckon Thiago will start and it is interesting about Alison, still don’t think we’ll see him here but it would be nice.
Hopefully Adrian won’t have two horrors in a row.
Can’t see us giving the Bitters a look in,let’s get back on track.

i owuld find a way to start Origi to this squad, maybe in place of fabio

You know as weird as it might sound, Origi is probably the best way to go at Pickford. It gets in Pickfords head and if your hitting in headers and shots that make Pickford extend his reach , he usually struggles with those. im concerned Ancellotti might decide to sit Pickford and start the new goalkeeper they bought. Robin Olsen if im not mistaken?
