Pre Match: Liverpool v. Manchester United, 2000 BST (UTC +1), Tuesday 19 April 2022 (Premier League)

This. For last 4-5 seasons, though the rational part accepts all the results, there’s this part that feel any result other than a complete humiliation of the opponent is unfair to this team.

Alternately, they will spend the entire game kicking our players.

By the 30min mark…

Fucking hell Matty, you’ll start world war 3 on here…

A nice little run out to the kiddos dancing will be just the thing your missus needs to get better.

You have to put her health first.

As for the match, can’t wait. I will have to record and stay on radio silence due to work, but hopefully we do what we need to do. As everyone is saying, complacency, possibly a bit of fatigue, could be the enemy. They know the stakes are high and Klopp will be into them, so complacency shouldn’t be a factor. And squad depth is staving off fatigue, somewhat, and hopefully we win it early on to get some rest within the game.

All those years of finishing behind them still leaves a mark. We are clearly the better side and should win well, but I take nothing for granted.

I would probably go with Matip for this one and put Konate back in for Richarlison at the weekend, but who knows? We have good options all over the park.

I’m trying to imagine what their side looks like today with their absences and it’s ugly as hell.

Fernandes up top? Pogba and Matic in the middle. They’re going to be forced to give us all the ball, have no legs in the side to press and so be forced to sit deep, and still end up with little counter attacking threat unless they play a woefully out of form Rashford.

I’m not trying to get over confident, but they are extra shit right now.

Of course, the irony is that most of Yorkshire was actually on the Lancastrian side…

At the end of the day, the only thing anyone needs to know is this

Is Rashford playing? His speed is one thing that can get to us but they tend not to utilise it if Ronaldo is up front.

I’d like to see Mane on the right, Bobby central and Diaz on the left tonight.

But I know it won’t happen.

Can’t wait for us to give Pogba a standing ovation when he comes off to really rub it in.

Aye. I guess I cannot think of a better time to be playing what on paper look like such huge back to back games.

I just don’t see that. I know Ralf has tried to get them to do this, I just dont see them doing it vs quality teams. Or maybe it’s a case of them attempting to do it vs cheaty and Liverpool, but it’s so ineffective that it doesn’t look like it’s happening.

Mo will score a few today in order to stop me from whining. Apparently he’s getting sick of it.

So, you don’t believe in the football gods then?

What teams? Did Jurgen ever have a team this much stronger than Ralf’s team or were the previous games evenly matched from a squad perspective?

The tried it at Old Trafford with their group of players best suited to it and it failed spectacularly. This time out they are less well suited to implementing that. If they attempt it today it will be suicide. It’s not Ralf football, but their best approach is to do what Houllier did to them in the early 00s. They just dont have an Owen they can call on to hurt us with balls in behind.

This is exactly the kind of match Mo needs to break his duck. Has to start for me. A proper throttling here will be good for the run in. We start the first half like we did against city at the weekend and we will go in up 5-0.

Anfield under the lights, United hanging on in the CL race by a thread, this typically would be the conditions set for another United manager to get sacked in the morning but looks like Ralf has security via interim status

Be professional, take them to the sword, then downshift. Will know if the first 10 mins if this is a 2-0, 3-1 kind of game or 5-0, 6-0 kind of game.

Trent Gomez VVD Robbo

I don’t know exactly how many times ive gone into a game against these thinking that we’d turn them over and come away with nothing but big slice of humble pie…not today surely to fuck?

We have to remember who it is…be professional and, just like City, every single one of them absolutely ON IT from the start.

As long as de Gea doesn’t decide to have his one worldie game of the season today, we’ll be ok.

Im starting to get the butterflies now

I fucking hate these games

Considering how shite MU are and with a number of players missing (although having them available wouldn’t have made a huge difference either), this on paper looks like a 5-0 win for us. But with the amount of games coming up, I think we will step our foot off the gas after 3-0. Expecting us to conserve our energy, make maximum use of substitution and turn it into a practice match. Sounds like anticlimax but all that matters now is 3 points and no injuries/fatigue.
