Pre match | Liverpool vs. Fulham | PL matchday 27 | Sunday March 7th 14:00h | Anfield

This is another example of this football club failing to stand up for itself. The Chelsea game was moved because of their FA Cup commitments and yet it has massively inconvenienced us and not them. There was also no reason why it couldn’t have been played on the Wednesday either. We should have told the authorities to go and fuck themselves given our current situation and importance of the Leipzig game but as usual we’ve bent over to accommodate them.

I really didn’t

Robbos´s passing is passive. Defenders are tending to block his wide runs so he is not getting a lot of crosses in now. Trouble is when he gets the ball out wide , even when forwards make runs behind the full backs, Robbo always pulls the ball onto his left foot and passes backwards . He never knocks the ball down the line behind the FB and never looks to clip a pass inside the full back into the space the striker has created.

That is all so untrue. Stop it. I know we are not playing very well at the moment but making up such stuff really is just more frustrating than whatching us play. Did you whatch the Chelsea game?

So it’s Nat and Fabinho (back to LCB for this one).

We’ll end up with the likes of Gini, Robbo and Trent at CB.

:joy:

Desperate times call for desperate solutions, still I’d get some kids in before giving the CB reigns to Robbo and TAA. :scream:

Just please change things and not keeping doing the same thing over and over with burnt out players who are having no effect defensively or offensively.

Alisson
Trent, Kabak (if available, Phillips if not), Davies, Robertson.
Fabinho playing a fluid role able to drop in as central CB or sit in front as DM.
Thiago and Keita (if fit, Jones if not)
Jones (unless he’s in CM then Shaqiri)
Salah and Jota.

Mane and Firmino etc being on the bench rests burnt out, underperforming players and means we have something in reserve to really make significant changes from the bench to chase/secure the win.

I’d be happy with just a few accelerated plays being kept going just to and upto a decent shot on goal during the match.
You’ll see once we start scoring those so called burnt out players will find their youthful energetic side! :slightly_smiling_face:

I would play my granny before choosing Thiago in Midfield. Slows our game, passes backwards too often or to another player under pressure. No goals, no assists? His timing for tackles is woeful…He adds nothing!

Why this guy is getting an easy ride beats me. Before someone says it’s not his fault because we have so many injuries and everyone is playing out of position…bollocks! We get more out of Curtis Jones than this fella and he’s fresh out of the Academy.

He is not right for us…put him back on the plane to Munich.

Anyway, let’s fucking see a bit of fight.

Alison
Trent Kabak Davies Robbo
Fabinho
Thiago Jones
Keita
Salah Mane

I’d like to see

  • one of our players get a yellow for dissent
  • Mane and Salah going down in the box as soon as there is contact
  • our players screaming at the ref for every decision.

If we can’t beat Fulham top 4 is gone. Fabinho and Kabak, Jota for Firmino and keita for Thiago.

Not even that easy.

If we can’t beat Fulham AND wolves.

Someone needs to show some leadership on the pitch - with VVD and Henderson out, it is sorely lacking.
Maybe a job for Milner or Robertson?

I’m firing Klopp, hiring you for team selection, then firing you and rehiring Klopp before kickoff. I hope you dont take it personally

We need to win all but one of the remaining games to get 73 points which is my estimate for a guaranteed top 4 finish.

I agree with all of your points.

Can I just add that I’d like to see Klopp going absolutely fucking bat shit crazy on the bench and maybe even picking up a yellow card himself.

He has had a lot going on recently but I miss the days of him going berserk. It definitely resonated through the team (and the fans when we were allowed in)

Come on the quest for top four starts today lads…

Top 3 is now wrapped up.
How are we playing 3 games in 9 days and west ham 1 in 10?

Play B Davies and N Phillips together. No nonsense combo, mop up everything in the air, and be a threat at our own set pieces. This means dropping the line back to accommodate them, and don’t bother with intricate passing out from the back. Leave the passing for fullbacks and midfield players.

Fab, if fit to start, provides the defensive shield in midfield. TAA and Andy/Tsimikas play a conservative game, goinf forward with nous.

Salah and Mane can have fun up top with no defensive duties - they can be on the last shoulder of the defence. Jota to create the mayhem by running from deeper positions.

Flip side - of course we know how Fulham will play. They’ll drop deep and encourage us to have a high line. Flood the midfield, be very disciplined in low block formation, and try direct balls to by pass midfield and allow their forward to have a run onto goal.

We’ve struggling to break down this template since the turn of the year. So no point doing the same old again, with 85% possession, but carving out next to zero chances.

With two proper CB, can play Keita in midfield as well, to carry the ball. Best way to overcome these teams is for a midfielder to jink past a player and then provide a quick pass forwards.
