We have a better squad than what we had a few years ago.
Where is the 12th player?
And whatās even better than thatā¦.is that theyāre all available for selection!!
I do not get it why would any Liverpool fan want us to get knocked out of this competition early. Big guns are going to be rested in the early rounds anyway (including the QF in December should we progress to that stage). It is a competition that offers valuable minutes to youngsters and fringe players and a chance to rest the main men. Even if the squad is thinner because of injuries at a given point in time, then u-23s should play. Thus, I do not see the Kangaroo Cup games as a burden.
Of course, it is not like we would be devastated if we are knocked out. Instead, it presents us with the opportunity to watch our team without stress. If we progress with our second choice XI on the field, great, if we do not, it is not the end of the world. But hoping we get knocked out? I donāt get it.
On Wednesday, we can expect wholesale (probably 11) changes - a starting XI similar to the one in Linz (VVD, Nunez and Diaz who started against WHU, shall be replaced by Quansah, Gakpo and Jota). So rest for the starting XI and minutes for youngsters and fringe players. Maybe even some valuable minutes for Trent off the bench to become match-sharp for Spurs.
I agree itās better, but itās also smaller.
Sure the early rounds are full of squad players and youth team prospect but so what?
I enjoy it for that reason
No reason not to go strong in this one given we have a more or less full squad to choose from. Iād rather be in it and able to give fringe players minutes than get knocked out by these tory twats. Shithouse fans and shithouse players like Ienacho or whatever the fuck his name is.
They may play a weakened side as theyāll want to concentrate on a push for promotion but I want us to smash them whatever they do.
Think the line-up will be similar to what everyone is posting. Give Elliott, Gravenberch and Endo a start, Doak, Jota and Gakpo up top and maybe Gomez, Matip, Quansah and Tsimikas at the back.
than get knocked out by these tory twats
Havenāt you got some virtue signalling to do?
Yeah but about 5 of them arenāt permanently injured.
Aye fair dues.
where is the lie in his post?
Kloppo will probably go again with some heavy rotation. The game next weekend will be tough and weāll need fresh legs for it.
Not really bothered about the result, but it will be a nice occasion for the young players to go to a stadium with some genuine atmosphere. No doubt that Leicester will be pumped up for it. Theyāve enjoyed a great start to their season.
Cup wins are important for tempering the squad and fostering a winning attitude. We should try to win every competition we are inā¦
Of course, there are priorities, but we are currently not that stretched and so should try to put out a strong squad capable of winning it.
That isnāt to say our 2nd squad isnāt strongā¦ but if TAA is ready for this weekend (after a stint off the bench for this one), then perhaps Gomez should start there. And perhaps we should then consider Bajcetic in midfield and Elliott on the RW (rather than Doak who could come off the bench).
We have the squad to heavily rotate, and Iām sure we will. So Iām not too bothered about it clogging up the fixture list. We can cope. Itās the bottom of the priority list, but still a trophy.
Itās also a chance for players down the pecking order to play and get something going to press their own claims for more action in bigger games.
Jay Spearing in midfield and 10 other U21s around him
Rather just play 11 of the u21s mate.
Stop being a grumpy cunt.
We already have heaps of those.

Haha @Walshy07
Looked up Leicesterās team news for this one, they have no missing players.
