Pre-Match | Man Utd v Liverpool | PL Match Day 9 | Sunday October 24th 16:30h | Old Trafford

Same for me, it’s often a borefest despite the pre-match hype.

So, I’m not too bothered that I’ll miss it due to family reasons. Hopefully the lads will make us proud, even though we historically tend to struggle over there. Fingers crossed that I’ll see jubilant post-match celebrations in here when I come back! :crossed_fingers:t2:

And then suddenly Sunday afternoon they appear fit and well…

The only way it weakens them is if Maguire is one of the players not injured

Even if it’s United…

if we draw no problem. If they beat us no problem. As long as it’s not controversial. Let them have their home advantage but please let it be a fair game.

Dont think he has the mind to play mind games. Dont blame him trying anything though for this game, he’ll need any help he can get.

If they brought in Lingard and Pogba/VDB for Rashford and Fernandes if those injuries are to be believed, I’d say that probably gives them a slightly better defensive balance to their side, and boy will Matic and McTominay need all the help they can get on Sunday.

I have a bad feeling they will have their backs against the wall and dog it a out bit, possibly earning themselves a draw. Our quality should shine through but just the nature and history of the fixture suggests it’s not going to be the easy ride a lot seem to be anticipating. As an earlier post said, Klopp has always been somewhat cautious heading to the toilet and Goodison and a draw in his eyes would be far from a disaster.

won’t be probably able to watch this game. There’s a family gathering planned and the chances are high that I won’t be able to catch anything other than the India Pak cricket match

Looking forward to this. My mum’s taking the kids for the night and I’m off to a Man U supporting friend’s massive new house to watch the match projected onto a big screen. So it will be beers with the boys (a good mix of supporters from both teams), then meeting the Mrs for dinner and the new Bond movie. Has the makings of a proper super Sunday!

I’m with everyone urging caution due to the nature of the rivalry and historic performances at their ground… I do feel the same, but I just have a sneaky feeling we are going to smash them this time, because, well, they are just a bit shit and we are just a bit awesome.

I’m also going for 4 for the good guys. 1 each for Mane (mid range volley), Bobby (well worked tap in) and Salah (another wonder goal) and the 4th either a headed corner from my namesake Joel or a long range strike from a resurgent Ox super sub.

United will score. 1, 2 or even 3, but they won’t have enough to dig themselves out of the hole we bury them in.

Bring it on!

Either that or a massive anticlimax 0-0 bore draw

For reasons, I’m working crazy hours, my diary looks like a poet’s notebook on speed.

However, Sunday from 4 is blanked off. As is Monday morning.

I can’t fucking wait

Ole today is like some mid-20s incel trying out the Jedi mind trick on his incel mates.

Laughable.

Salah will score.

100% this. The Boss doesn’t have many weaknesses, only has 2 blind spots. Playing at Old Trafford is one of them. I’ve always felt he sets up and plays much too cautiously and shows them far too much respect at their place. As an aside, his other blind spot is whenever we play a club managed by The Eyebrow. He’s always showed that man far too much respect and drives me mad.

All that said, I honestly don’t know what to expect from this match Sunday. City and Atletico are likely 2 of the best 5 teams currently in the world, IMHO, and we went punch for punch with them. I don’t put United on either of their level but they do have quality, and obviously Ronaldo is a threat from anywhere. I’m mildly annoyed at this narrative United and Ole has created for themselves that they’re somehow a plucky upstart going against a world heavyweight.

I’m a little nervous but I do believe we will beat them.
