It is an advantage, but one that is often overstated. Even if we win this match, we would still need an almost-unprecedented winning run in history to end the season on. Only 3 times have we ever won 17 league games in a row. We are almost certain to drop points, as are City.
Yes, maybe. I’m saying that a win for either side in this game will ultimately prove to be decisive, just like it was in 18/19.
In other news, Klopp’s presser just finished. He managed to say ‘Pep is the best coach in the world’ and keep a straight face. He also said everyone is fit and available for trhe game on Sunday.
No new injury concerns all good, that’s all I need to know Jurgen
There was once upon a time Kolo Touré, no?
Jota, Diaz or Bobby, surely?
This game is worth three points, same as any other. If we don’t win the title, it’ll be as much due to throwing away two-goal leads against Brighton and Chelsea, losing at West Ham and Leicester, etc as it will be about this particular game.
Oh, and City’s tactical fouling going unpunished every week and that joke of a non-handball for Everton.
Although they would probably have missed the penalty anyway.
Thanks but that thread is 8 years old. The Montreal SC seems to be inactive
In that case, there can only be one solution: start your own.
Pep is more unhinged than usual. We’re fucking winning this.
That 14 points was fake interview is so bizarre
What a cunt
Yeah, but he’s a paranoid cunt. Given what’s coming out about all of City’s financial cheating, and the fact that it’s well known they have the most resources and most expensive squad in history, the pressure on him is massive.
If we pull off a quad before they do, he’s finished. The cunt.
Mostly by Sky Sports
This is all fair enough. Obviously he has won stuff in some very commanding teams before us - not just down to him, but he played his part in those teams, winning the biggest prizes.
I almost didn’t comment, as he is a very good player.
I’m just not quite seeing his addition as all upside. A lot of upside, definitely, and hopefully he will cement that further in the run in. But I do see a slight tendency in his game to linger and be dispossessed, especially in the helter-skelter Prem. It’s a fine balance though, he is usually trying penetrating passes, which are harder.
No real argument from me though. Fabinho, Thiago and Henderson, if they are all playing at or near their best, is an excellent midfield and should be the way we go against Man City.
Arguably Keita is playing his way into consideration, and good because we need that, but I would give Hendo the nod over him.
With seven subsequent games to go Im not ready to say this! Sky et al want to hype it up as much as possible, as though it is the last game of the season and the decider, but it isn’t quite that.
Still, the stakes are very high indeed.
If they win, it’s not over, but I tend to agree that it almost is. We will need to regroup and keep fighting to keep them honest, but they will receive a huge boost from the win, and that will set them up for an easier run in.
If we draw they would still be favorites, having kept their noses in front and navigated their hardest fixture ahead of an easier run in.
If we win I would make us slight favorites, but with plenty more work to do in our tougher run in. Ideally we win and it gives them the jitters and they drop more points, giving us some cushion for a misbobble in the run in.
Still loads to play for, but after the game on Sunday we will see what’s what.
Can’t wait.
Oh, and I’m gutted, as I will have to record it and watch later. I’m free as a bird all day Saturday, but no, the Prem couldn’t work with me on that!
I like him.
He reminds me of me.

A cool strutting genius with occasional poor ball retention?
No,
We’re both baldies.

My dad just posted this nonsense on facebook claiming it makes liverpool “plastic”
The premise is that history starts in 1954 when we were relegated and shankly was only able to get us back up because we started spending money under new ownership. the article includes this gem…
That is a really bizarre way saying that at the time of that relegation we were the third most successful side in English league history, with only Arsenal and Sunderland having more titles. This story is not one of a rich sugar daddy creating a competitive team out of no where in violation of the rules. It is one a change in ownership resulting in the loosening of the strings in the short term to return a team to its historical place in the pecking order.
Of course, this is an article that ignores City’s cheating has been proven and only not punished because of issues of the Statutes (suck it @PeachesEnRegalia ) of limitations. An articles that outright denies the existence of the cheating is a nonsense on its face
It’s part of the overall PR around Man City. We are not cheats, and we beat the rap. But on the outside chance that jealous clubs get something to stick, because the football world is against us, then we are not cheats, but if they say we are, we are not the first ones. Liverpool, blah blah blah, Liverpool. Look at them! 1950s!
It’s pathetic. I really hope we beat them.
And if we do, @Limiescouse you need to put a nice picture of the match/scorer/Klopp in your dad’s Father’s Day card when it rolls around in June. We are supposed to respect our elders, so fair enough, but if I were you, I’d be looking at your dad sideways!
This is so desperate. I feel sorry for anyone who needs this kind of justification.
