Just noticed the unusual kickoff time. What’s that about?

I believe every team in the competition plays one group stage game on that early kick off slot.

Usually the squad will fly to Denmark in the next few hours, right?

8/1/17 FAC Vs Plymouth Argyle: 5 previous 2.6ppg, 5 after 0.8ppg

26/9/2018 LC Vs Chelsea: 5 previous 3ppg, 5 after 1.6ppg

While rhythm is important, so is giving the players time to recover from muscle injuries which came about from playing too many games in too short a period.

Throw in the fact that it’s away, in Denmark, so there will be time lost travelling, overnight stays etc. etc. All time, that for Trent & Keita, would, in my opinion, be better spent training at Kirkby.

The game is a dead rubber, so there is nothing riding on the result. No better time to give the youngsters their chance, and not risk senior players.

It gets dark around mid-November. None of that soft southern “sunlight” shit up here.

You’re an advocate or taking more than the under 11s then?

Watch Liverpool’s pre-match press conference live with us at 10.45am GMT today.

Jürgen Klopp and a member of his squad will speak to the media remotely from the AXA Training Centre ahead of the trip to face FC Midtjylland in the Reds’ final fixture of the Champions League group stage.

They might need to find a booster cushion somewhere.

I lived in Aberdeen, I can not remember ever seeing or feeling the sun.

Klopp just said in the press conference that we are going to Denmark with “everything we have”. Could be Klopp double speak but the context he said it in implied that he was serious this time.

Holly shit, just reading that makes me cold and depressed.

Klopp will take a strong squad to Denmark. But there will be few changes in the starting lineup (Rhy, Tsimikas, Keita, Jota, Takumi, Origi) and he will substitute the remaining regulars after HT.

It will be a dire game to watch.

If Liam Millar plays alongside Minamino and Origi I give it about 25 minutes before everyone starts saying they’d rather see him in the first team than either of those two.

Decent analysis, thank you.

So the case for not completely disrupting the team is made, in favour of keeping some rhythm and continuity.

On the other hand we have special circumstances this season, and getting some rest into our better players will be hard to come by.

All things considered, I think we will play a slightly stronger team than I first imagined, but the pack will still be shuffled quite significantly.

It will be hard for JK to be taken seriously the next time he complains about fixture congestion if he plays many first teamers in this one. The game is completely irrelevant. I’m all for keeping up momentum but there are special circumstances this season and we really should not be taking any risks.

Yup, I’d just play the team who played Shrewsbury or Villa last year, who cares.
