Pre Match | Midtjylland vs Liverpool | CL Matchday 6 | Wednesday December 12th 17:55h | MCH-Arena

This is a great chance for guys like Tsimikas, Takumi, Origi, Shaq (if he’s fit), Adrian, maybe even Keita to get some minutes in and stake a claim for a place in the ‘real’ games. I wouldn’t risk any of the others who play game-to-game in the league though, our squad is too threadbare to take risks like these.

Definitely think Kelleher is bound to start this one since the lad who does the presser normally gets to start. Think it will be a stronger team than we expect. I imagine Gini/Hendo split the game 45 mins a piece. Keita starts, origi and mini for sure. Imagine Jota will as well.

Kelleher
Trent Williams Fab Tsmikas
Keita Hendo Jones
Jota Mini Origi

The fixtures against Villa and Shrewsbury meant more as we were trying to stay in contention in the respective cup competitions.

As we’ve already topped the group, the only first teamers that should be considered are:-

Origi, Minamino, Kostas, Rhys Williams, Keita (45 minutes), Neco/Trent(45 minutes each at RB). Not sure about Trent even but suppose he needs some minutes.

I wouldn’t have risked Kelleher, seems like he’s playing - hopefully that means that A Becker is definitely back for this weekend!

Christ, Hendo and Gini absolutely nowhere near this.

There are a few shoo ins. Tsimikas, Origi, Minamino need the games. Kelleher did the presser so will start, and Koumetio only got 45mins for the U18s

I think Keita will start, as he could use the game, and won’t start at Fulham. Neco and Trent might do 45mins each and Salah and Jota might share the game too.

I hope you are right.

Apparently Ox trained today, so he could get 20minutes?

The lads trained at home but we still don’t know who travelled, right?

No chance. Klopp specifically said none has returned from injury.

Have we travelled yet? I thought Covid regs meant we have to go on the day of the game.

What’s going on with that thread title??

I totally agree. Following Midtjylland, we are facing a run of three PL games in the space of six days: Sunday Fulham (A), Wednesday Tottenham (H), and Saturday 12.30 Crystal Palace (A).

With such a punishing schedule we simply cannot risk our first team players (and jeopardise a possible nine PL points), on an irrelevance.

I am uncertain of the copyright value of Origi :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Equal to or less than his actual value?

That’s the team I think we’ll see. 45 mins split for Trent and Neco too.

Why on earth would Hendo play?

I’d prefer if Hendo and Gini were left out completely, but we’re not exactly flush in midfield at the moment, and I can’t see Klopp starting Clarkson or Cain. That being said, I didn’t think we’d see Kelleher last week either so who knows!

Great news that Ox and Shaq are back in training!

Saw a lot of first teamers in the photos, Robbo, Hendo, Gini etc. Why did they even make the trip, what’s the point.

Yeah it’s not going to be a very young side by the look of it but it will be rotated. I’m with you, I wouldn’t have even taken a single first team player to Denmark with us.

Looks like Koumetio will get a game as his name has been in the pre-match preview on the official site and he was specifically photographed a number of times.
