Don Hutchinson on ESPN made a point about players not ours just in general. If a manager keeps going about too many games players been tired they will ultimately believe they are tired. I wouldn’t think it applies to us but you never know.

We just need to be a bit more clinical. Two great chances so far. Let’s put any away that we get second half. Curtis seems to be playing within himself. I hope his slip against WBA is not playing on his mind.

Not the first time that we played such a “poor” first half, we know we can do better. At least we created some chances.
I am really wondering why nobody believes in this team any more. Everything has to be perfect, that’s so annoying meanwhile tbh.

Yeah the loss of Matip is terrible for us, with VVD already missing. We lose out a lot of quality in our build-up. But Nat, considering his limitations, plays quite well so far. He is not the reason why the lads don’t perform well as a team.

So far I will say that Newcastle is defending pretty well, we struggle to create. We also need 3-4 chances to score today it seems, not yet lethal sharp our forwards. That means we need to batter them more, sooner or later you score if you create enough. We need to be wary and balanced though, Newcastle looked pretty sharp tonight (before the final ball), they did create a few very dangerous situations.Can’t give them too many more.
Some of our players are not at a very high level,but some play because we have to play them, and that is just how it is, not necessarily anything we can do with that. Our midfield is kind of static, Jones looks insecure and makes some bad movements, but we don’t have that many alternatives and Phillips is bullied, but.
Anyway, we can absolutely win this. I think we will.

Last season I feel like every game was like this and we came out in the second half and just did enough to win. Happy if we can do that again today - although given the outbreak of Covid in the league again it’s not looking like it will matter.
It shouldn’t be this way but I mentally switched off from football after the Man City outbreak and I’m finding it hard to really care very much when I don’t think we should be playing anymore, or that we won’t be playing much longer. I wonder if the players have a bit of that thought as well.
