Pre- match: Real Madrid v Liverpool, Wednesday 15th March, 20:00

I think the fact he remained on the pitch for almost the full game.

Anyhow Henderson is Ill.

Klopp confirms that Stefan Bajčetić is out of tomorrowā€™s game with a ā€œstress responseā€ injury in his adductor. He joins Jordan Henderson (ill) on the sidelines.

In addition to new midfielders and defenders, we need multiple doctors and recovery specialists next season.

Isnā€™t that what got Jones?

can you imagine the ex-Barca man with a brace to win the tie?

Is he in the squad for CL?

If it goes to pens Milner has to take all Liverpools.

Because we canā€™t trust Salah.
He should be sold and we should buy Mbappe and Haaland and Bellingham.

We played Barca with a depleted team.
And hammered them.
Destiny awaits

On the one hand we have got next to no chance.
On the other hand Barcelona, and more recently Man Utd.

We are frightening when we get the bit between our teeth, and we have some players to hurt them. Here comes the howeverā€¦

Our midfield is not good enough, and thatā€™s the part where they will probably excel and take control.

In terms of temperament we look like we can whip up a storm but on the other side, their temperament is well adept at handling that. The most impressive part of their win at Anfield was how they didnā€™t panic. We raced to a 2-0 lead but they got a foothold, passed it about, and then put us to the sword.

Unfortunately I donā€™t think our current team is good enough to beat them.

Mind you, we have seen some incredible things as reds, so you never know.

Tbh I donā€™t think it was the midfield per se that killed us ā€” though it played a huge part.

We lost control because they pressed us very well and we had no answer. Granted, the right midfielders in the right places would help with that, but I felt it was equally pressure on our back four as much as a lack of midfield strength.

To say nothing of the momentum lost from a rare keeper errorā€¦

Either way, not sure we have the answer especially away, but if thereā€™s a match I can be confident all the players are up for, itā€™d be against Madrid. Then again, itā€™s not like we werenā€™t ā€œup for itā€ in the first leg.

I usually work away. This is the first time for an age I have been able to watch the game at my local pub. So back to routine for me. A meat sweat inducing mixed grill at the desi pub, before I move onto my local where there is an imaginary exclusion zone placed around me, where no one can talk to me, encroach on my personal space, make funny sounds, voice their opinions indirectly - the exception being, the serving of a pint.

I am embarrassed about how many Doomsdayers there are. I was in Istanbul when we were 3-0 down at half time, with a far inferior team to the Milan team. It took 6 minutes to level the score. In Madrid we have 90 minutes to cancel out the 3 goal difference.
As Klopp alluded to, I would rather focus on the 1% chance of us winning.

In terms of the team, I would not be at all surprised if we played a 424 formation with a diamond front 4. With Hendo and Bajetic unavailable I would go with Milner and Fabinho - yes no legs - but get them to crab (side to side), covering the fullbacks. I would then play Nunez, Gapko, Salah as a front 3 with Jota playing deep harassing Modric, etc.

Much as I dislike City, Utd and Chelsea fans, I sometimes dislike Liverpool fans more.

Feel strangely confident. Weā€™ll do this and no penalties. 4 - 0 in 90 minutes.

And then weā€™ll go on to beat Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal before losing 5 - 0 to Leeds.

thinking itā€™s going to be a front 4 with Bobby in the middle, and then a duo of nobody with the name of Ox or Keita.
