Pre Match Thread : Liverpool vs Leeds United 12/09/2020; 17:30 BST

Battered underdog with chips… from Salah, Mané and Firmino, all sailing over Kiko Casilla’s head and nestling snugly in the net at the Kop end.

Sorry, I haven’t been paying attention. Is Hendo still unavailable?

It’s a pleasure to join all of you here at this new site for another season. Up the Reds! YNWA.

It’s more of a maybe he will start maybe not kind of a thing. I’m not sure what his status is right now, but based on the fact he hasn’t played a single pre season game, and only recently returned to training, highly unlikely he will start the first game of the season. Unless Jurgen thinks he is good to go.

This thread will look more like a chat during the game with the auto refresh and knowing who’s typing I am presuming. That’ll be new.

The spoilers might be scary for ones like me with delayed streams though… :see_no_evil:

They are classic lyrics, must have taken a few weeks to write those lines. Straight out of the Bernie Taupin book of songwriting.

Ah, at the beach the weekend. An early 18 holes, then my beloved Reds begin their defense. A glorious day!

Leeds, a great story, blah, blah, blah. Batter these twats, and lay down the early marker. 3-0, a brace from Sadio (and not just because he’s my fantasy captain).

COYR!!!

This is the most important game of the season, well at least it will be until the next one. It’s an absolutely must win game.

The denizens of the pit, otherwise known as PGMOL, desperate to get shiteh’s season off to a flying start, have appointed michael “pitmatical” oliver as their chosen man in the middle, whilst paul “pie eater” tierney is on VAR. Obviously “yakka” oliver, ably assisted by “woolyback” tierney, will do his damndest to make a hard task even harder, however, our Redmen will be up for the task, of that I’m certain.

The Mem and I, still smarting since the abject failure of our pre-match rituals in preparation for the inter-charity-cup-community-plaque-shield-fairs-bucket&spade-plate, did some serious soul searching with regards to the emendation of our pre-match agenda. Days of intensive augering, including, but not confined to, logomancy, enoptromancy, eleomancy, deuteroscopy and scapulomancy, resulted in what Boudica perceived to be the perfect incantation.

Unfortunately, at the very moment of execution, that sluberdegullion @Kopstar chose to interfere with the invocation concerning the epidermis of the berry of the fruit of the genus musa.

On discovering his malfeasance, I did my best to emulate the easy nonchalance of those Indian fakirs who, doubtless from the best motives, spend the formative years of their lives lying on iron spikes.

The Mem, for an instant, remained frozen, for even the greatest congeal beneath the chill breath of the totally unexpected. Recovering her presence of mind sufficiently to draw noiselessly away from the line of vision, she expressed her irritation, at the necessity of an eleventh hour alteration of plans, by pronouncing a malison upon him in a terminology that would have made a docker blush.

Suffice to say, the name @Kopstar is now included in the roster of the cohort of the damned.

Meanwhile Lawro has returned with gusto, waxing lyrical about the loiners. He’s looking forward to how they get on; he loves the way they play; he doesn’t see them struggling at all etc. etc. whilst undermining our chances by predicting a two nil win to us.

Hopefully his attempted kiss of death won’t throw a spanner in the works and upset the apple-cart.

I’ll take a scrappy 1-0 win to us. :astonished:

Well, I’m going to be the one to say it…finding it really difficult to be enthusiastic about the new season. This pandemic has really driven home how important fans are in the grand scheme of things.
Just hoping for a win, team still more or less picks itself. Leeds will be well up for this, we need to be on it from the first whistle. Narrow win for the champions.

I feel exactly the same, match days just don’t feel right at the moment. I’m watching the Arsenal game and it’s bloody awful without the fans, no matter how much the commentators talk it up.
I just think empty stadiums play right into City’s hands, with their boring, pass the opposition to death brand of football.

To be fair, we’ll have +50 of them this season

Hope we demolish them, end the weekend top on GD and then stay there until everyone else goes back in the Biffa :+1:t2:

Isn’t it discombobulating when the first match is a late kickoff. I was thinking it was a 3pm start but that’s 4pm for me. Then I see it’s 5:30 which is 6:30 for me which means an 8:30 finish which is 20:30 in the 24 hour clock. I may as well celebrate with a cup of cocoa…

Think that anecdote needs a bit of work tbh lad

His muscles muscle was pulled.

Are Leeds away supporters banned as usual or is it COVID?
