PreMatch | Liverpool vs Brentford | PL Matchday 38 | Sunday May 24th 16:00h

I’m happy with Kerkez particularly having a red hot crack. Bit impetuous but will mature.

I would start Robbo and make the change half way through the 2nd half. Standing ovation and fresh legs. That works.

In fairness, it’s a bit like those number tricks in the Eagle comic that ended, “…and then subtract 13 and amaze your friends as you tell them the number that they thought of.”

My misheard and badly typed takes on Arne’s Slot’s last pre-match press conference of the season (or ever?!):

  • What does Arne think about Salah’s statement. Arne is concentrating on CL qualification on Sunday.
  • Comments were personal criticism, what impact have they had? Team trained well. Mo and Slot have same interest: best for club and team. Slot wouldn’t comment on Mo selection.
  • A win will help 6th place team? Concentrating on a win and to give fans a nice end to season. Brentford playing for places as well.
  • Is Arne looking forward to season ending? At end of season you are usually looking forward. Last season was nice as we won early. Now looking to go on holiday and prepare for next season.
  • Are plans in place for next season? CL qualification has impact.
  • Have Slot’s footballing philosophies been tested this season? Doesn’t need reset but football evolves. (Congratulated Arsenal). Arsenal is a different type of champion: 40% of goals from set pieces. We need to compete with that next season with our own brand of football.
  • VVD - played every game: Great accomplishment. If all players were available he would have been rested more. He takes care of himself.
  • Mo - does it undermine Slot’s training? Everyone wants what is best for club. (Question dodged).
  • Does Slot think style has changed? Football has changed. City aren’t getting as many chances either.
  • Defending from set-pieces, what are Liverpool lacking? In general, we are not the tallest or strongest.
  • Hungarian question! Performance of Hungarian players. Goalkeeper not played but has progressed. Kerkez has improved during the season. Happy with his development. Dom is an example for how players can improve.
  • Is Dom potential captain? Virg is here next season, Dom has it in him. “Future of manager is only 3 days!”
  • Question about social media? Slot doesn’t understand what “likes” mean. Team has had a good week in training.
  • Isak and Alisson: Ali trained. Isak trained with team for first time today.
  • Agree with Mo’s Heavy Metal comments? Repeats that both Mo and Slot want club to be successful. If Slot likes our (his) brand of football then the fans will.

TLDR: We play Brentford on Sunday and then this godawful season will be over.

I think Slot said this in jest, but I found it eye opening.

I honestly think he is trolling people at this point. He is probably posting on here and coming up with ammunition to wind people up.

More holidays??? Fuck me, he is so lazy during the season and he still wants more holidays???

Sure, come 25th or 26th May, I hope he gets all the holidays he wants with a severance payout from the club!

If truth be had… he is already on holiday - here in Liverpool..!

I’ve just been on the BBC website, which I hardly ever do, and the number of Everton fans commenting on Slot’s press conference is laughable. Their obsession with LFC is extraordinary. We’ve had a terrible season, by our standards and yet we’re still above them. Personally, I wouldn’t even consider commenting on one of Moyes’s press conferences, it just wouldn’t cross my mind.

Lack of interest for starters.

Not sure why no one asked him about the ice cube thing.

It’s because they are vile, disgusting cunts.

There was a thread on WSAG the other day about Jota being included in the Portugal squad. All restraint is gone, they’re as good as revelling in his death.

I’m sure he was. He’s just coming across as extremely unlikeable for me.

You can read between the lines and take several different outcomes from it. I guess we wait and see, I would expect something relatively swift say before the end of next week if he was to go.

Alex will be back just in time for the world cup; bet he’s then injured and not available much until Christmas.

Ah, because he rather lives in Manchester than Liverpool? haha

Well, I guess he is confident of seeing out his contract. But recently, Dutch managers in the PL always have a way to fall flat on their faces once their Plan A gets punched in the face.

If we get Reijnen in, it will make no sense to bring him in only to sack the whole of Slot’s staff by the end of June.

Hang in there, FSG is doing the Brendan Rodgers act in the playbook now…

What happened there?

Wait, you weren’t here during the Rodgers days about 10-11 years ago?
