No question, he did play well against Madrid. Everyone did. That was to my eye the best performance we have had under Slot. But we used to expect the level he was at for the City match every game.

Yes, nothing crosses, just played into an area with no pace on them, so hard for an attacker to score even if they get on the end of it

The wrong Diaz offside decision led to their goal.

We need to make changes. Gomez bombing down the left is infective as he isnt that type of player.
Throw jota on. Another no show from gakpo and diaz.
Fulham are just playing to protect their lead, we’ve done nothing to trouble them.

For all I read about Fulham playing brilliantly, we started to dominate after the red, and they couldn’t finish their few chances.
I expect us to even be tactically better drilled after half time adjustments.

Yeah injuries. We know Robbo can’t play on top of his game in back to back games, so Kostas would’ve helped massively to take care of the Girona game. If a team can’t rotate, you stand no chance.

You could make this argument if they managed to keep us playing in front of them, but we have got in behind their last line of defense multiple times with only last ditch defending bailing them out. If they are playing purposefully to contain us, rather than us forcing them onto the back foot, they are doing it very poorly.

If I remember correctly, there was a study that suggested that it actually tends to be the case since it galvanises the team that goes down to 10 to play better.

Hmm, can we turn this around with 10 men ? We should be able to, but it’s difficult.I thought Fulham have been good so not easy. A point here would be good (after the red) and a win really good/excellent.

Well, people were asking for a genuine test for Slot, eh? This is one: a goal down, with ten men remaining on the pitch.
We can’t say that the 1-0 is undeserved for Fulham. They have dominated the game, bar the last ten minutes or so. It could easily be two or three already.
So, what does Slot do? Probably tell them to hang in, keep it at 0-1, and hope for a free-kick, a penalty, whatever to get a draw out of this. Or will he tell them to go full on attacking mode, with the crowd behind them, but also with the risk to be plucked out at the back?
It will be interesting to see how it will pan out, but this looks very much like a horse race with handicaps. Our handicap is enormous, and we’ll see how the lads can deal with it. 45 minutes to go, fingers crossed that they can somehow find the solution!

A lot of negativity over Robbo on here. There is no doubt he has been struggling a bit recently but that’s only apparent because of the high standards he has set himself. I think that now he will miss a game and get some rest it will do him good. I still believe he will sort this out and come good again. He has certainly earned the right for a bit of patience from us…
