My hope is that the person they want wasn’t able to start until after this window and so this is just a stop gap for the summer.
As for what he’s brought, we can’t really be certain. We don’t know what his actual responsibilities are, how much sway he has or why Hogan might have stepped in for the Caicedo negotiations. And there’s definitely whispers that the departures of Edwards and Ward might well be in part related to Klopp. It’s speculation but the fact we got someone he knows in for the summer is perhaps telling.
Which if true will be something that’s been agreed with him. Do we need him in Liverpool to do his job? Probably not. The fact he’s not holed himself up in Liverpool for the summer whilst he’s technically here on a trial basis suggests everyone likely knows it’s a short term thing and not something to up sticks for.
That’s the elephant in the room. Though, it appears odd to me that Ward would have taken the job to begin with if he knew that Klopp was too difficult to work with.
I think Klopp’s bigger issue is with FSG. His whole comment about how “Chelsea managers get what they want” is telling.
regardless, it wasn’t a dig at FSG. It was a comment about the turnover at Chelsea as their managers always want new players. Never, satisfied working with the ones they have.
Get the feeling Poch is only there for the money these days - Probably a tad disillusioned with the whole behind the scenes of football clubs, having spent a time at PSG… Seems a decent guy for a manager, but he did have the Spurs players practising ‘diving’, if my memory serves
also links back to his comments when it became public we weren’t in for Jude
Klopp said. "We are not children; when you ask a five-year-old what they want for Christmas and they say a Ferrari, you wouldn’t say ‘oh, that’s a good idea’.
Maybe like Lavia… Jurgen had value in his head set aside for Bellingham… if that value was surpassed, well he is of strong enough personality to let him go elsewhere
Come on, guys. That’s just Klopp being a good soldier instead of rocking the boat. Which is what you’d want from him, of course. You don’t want him complaining to the press about his bosses.
Besides, he’s not a five year old asking for a Ferrari, something he couldn’t use even if he had one. He’s a football manager who wants top quality players. I guarantee you if FSG sanctioned the outlay for Bellingham, he wouldn’t have said that was a bad idea.
The Caicedo thread would have been going neck and neck with this one still… if it had remained open - Lots of posters that have lots of pent-up anger regards that non-transfer - no thread to lay it down in
Oh, I’m sure I did. Memory slightly hazy as I was incredibly drunk. A mate signed us up for it without my knowledge or consent, and we then proceeded to duet it. I can vaguely remember finishing with an Elvis style ‘thank you very much’ and getting a round of applause.
Oh, and I also finished collapsed on both knees after the whole speeded up section near the end
