No. I guess its a bit hard comparing houses to players - but if its a dream house and you don’t want anything else - then you will pay what seller wants. Especially if the wife is in your ear!
It’s been reported/suggested that both apply, city can bid £40 million for him next year, but Southampton have to pay city 20% of any transfer to any other team…but who knows at this stage anymore 
Heres an idea. Lets buy their best youth team player at the same time. We pay £40m for Sam Amo-Ameyaw and £5m for Lavia.

Or we throw in Nat Phillips and Tyler Morton who we value at £25m and then pay the balance.
Only problem with that is they have better players than Phillips and Morton already, so don’t see much interest in that deal from Southampton.

Seems increasingly likely that the Lavia deal will get done. If we do end up paying the 50m , I do have to question why the club needed to waste the additional time when Lavia could have been added much before to the preseason squad.
This is unlike Liverpool off late. We’ve been very proactive on transfers when we’ve identified our target.
