Or maybe weāll decide that Araujo is worth keeping.

Thats a huge wage outlay, but then no loan fee or guaranteed transfer fee for Barca.
Not to hark on too much about social media but ābrutish bozoā is hardly a polite description of Konate or Araujo. Also a description that undersells the qualities both have. Nevermind that without seeing them as pair heās already declared VVD and Araujo as washedā¦

I think this is a smart solution at CH ,it is a win win for us. Even better if he does well we can buy him at a reasonable price.
It seems the team needs a mad Uruguayan to function, so letās roll with it.
Now we can concentrate on the transfers of Mbaye and Barcola. The Aurojo signing is like manna from heaven.
Its still cheaper than signing someone permanently. For example Tomori would likely be around half that in wages but would have required Ā£20m-Ā£30m in transfer fee and weād be tied in to at least a 3 or 4 year contract.
Itās a high salary but we can simply send him back if it doesnāt work or try and negotiate him down/stack money in bonuses if it does and we keep him.
He will more importantly allow us to get back our injured players a bit less hurriedly especially the long term ones.
He also lets our young defenders have another year of development before we decide if they are good enough and ready to be the main choice in defense.
His base salary is EU13m or Ā£11.3m. There will be CL payments and maybe other bonuses but itās still a capital efficient deal for us.
And itās been a while since we had an all-out heidbanger, which I will look forward to immensely. Bit of a beast too but I think this club might be perfect for calming the dragon.
So for all the talk of Hughes and Edwards not doing anything and hand wringing about our lack of activity that is two very necessary signings through the door with basically zero media coverage or insider leaks beforehand.
The likes of Barcola and Diomande are obviously more complicated and the agents have a vested interest in revealing everything to get more parties involved, so thatās out of our control, but good to see that we still move stealthily when we want to.
