BBC reporting the same fees
Liverpool have agreed a 41m euro (£35.1m) deal to sell Sadio Mane to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The Reds will get a fixed 32m euros (£27.4m) with an additional 6m euros based on appearances and 3m euros based on individual and team achievements.
I’m happy enough with that - we get a decent chunk upfront and the appearances based targets are likely to be met.

£5m due after he first appears anywhere in a Bayern shirt hopefully.
Bit of a climb down on what we were pushing for but it’s not like another £5m makes that much difference in the grand scheme of things and still pretty much what we paid for him despite the best six years of his career.
I do find it a bit off he’s only getting a three year deal though.
Oh and we are 100% getting Bayern in the CL at some point next season that’s for sure.

£35m total fee sounds about right. I expect the same press who have reported £85m for Darwin and £6.5m for Ramsey will be quoting just the £27.5m for Mane - all going toward making us look like relatively bigger spenders cf Cheaty etc.

didnt know much about Mane until we signed him,
but i mind watching 1 of his 1st competative games for us against Arsenal,
and he scored that goal.
i mind thinking to myself, we’ve signed a cracking player here, and we had.
he has been brilliant for us since he signed.
he leave us with nothing but great menories IMO.

The fee’s about right and in line with what I expected. It was clear the club wanted this deal done given they’ve already replaced him (twice). He’s 30 and has one year left on his contract. We got Thiago from them for less. It’s a good deal for us, for him and for Bayern. Everybody’s happy.
I will definitely miss Sadio. It feels like the end of a mini-era within the Klopp era. The end of the famous three, the red arrows, call them what you like, I will never forget Mo, Bobby and Sadio in full flight.

Nunez is exciting but will take him a while to get anywhere near the levels Sadio reached for us, and he may never do so

So we’re essentially getting back what we paid for him 6 years ago there or thereabouts, not bad that.
Sadio you’re an absolute legend, a Liverpool great without doubt & wish you every bit of success at Bayern…except of course and as JK would say if Bayern were to face Liverpool.

Not going to lie, there’s a big part of me that feels devastated. I know it’s not realistic to want or expect that certain players finish their careers at Liverpool but he was definitely in that group for me.
Also, I wish that club could have raised a bit more money from his sale because I’m frankly envious of Man City’s outgoing business.
People mention parallels with Torres but the only one I see is “what could have been had he stayed”. Torres started banging them in again once Kenny took over and Mane started banging them in again once Klopp moved him to the centre.
Maybe he’s no longer the dynamic force he used to be but he’s still a quality player and Bayern will make him feel important and he’ll probably surpass his Liverpool scoring record in no time.
I can only wish him the best of luck in life and hope that Klopp will successfully replace him. Those are mighty shoes to fill.
