Sadio Mane (LW) to Bayern

Great player, great legend, great legacy.

I do wonder if getting him off the wage budget though may free up a bit more cash to give Salah his renewal. We would not go to 400k that he asked for but maybe meet halfway from where he is now. Especially as Nunez is apparently on fairly reasonable wages.

I hope we don’t do that.

I just doubt we will be signing a new forward and midfielder next summer. If rumour is right that we are going to try and get an agreement in place for Bellingham then I think he will be our only signing in 2023.

He also said it in an interview to Liverpool TV at Kirkby training ground.

I love Sadio but he got that totally wrong.

The comment he made makes you wonder if the reporter was actually German and a Bayern fan maybe…
It would make sense then him saying it…!

All Sadio’s goals for us. Some things that jump out when you see them all together like this.

  1. He scored a huge variety of goals
  2. He scored a lot of headers
  3. He really played centrally quite a lot

That rebound goal against Everton at the death was actually far earlier in his time here than I remembered.

We will need to avoid FCB next season if at all possible because with Lewandowski gone, Sadio will be THE major threat. He will miss us and we will miss him, which is a good way to part company I guess.

I really don’t want him to play against us. He’s too bloody good!

best of luck to him,

on a personal level he leaves as one of my all time favorites, the stuff he does off the park transcends football…

and even though Klopp has filled our squad with decent (yet competitive-Andy robertson) individuals, no one was reportedly as selfless as Mo…

i wonder if there will be a bit of a hole in the dressing room fabric as much as the one he leaves on the park.

not in the traditional ā€˜we all got on the piss together after training’ way, but in a slightly different way…maybe he wasnt besties with a TAA or a Ibou, but they would have stared accross that dressing room and seen a teamate doing what he was doing off the park…

bricks in the wall…

either way, he leaves with my blessing…i laugh off a couple of Faux Pars in the media towards the end…i make similar mistakes everytime i chat to wifey…

Liverpool never lost when Sadio ManƩ scored for them at Anfield in any competition - 56 games, 52 wins, 4 draws.

Only Kevin Keegan (64) has scored in more games at Anfield for #LFC without ever losing than ManƩ.

As good as Mane is I do think he was helped by our system and the players around him. I just can’t picture him becoming a big time individual or someone capable of replacing Lewandowski. Maybe it’s just because he is so intrinsically part of an attacking three in my mind but I can’t see it.

Anyway, my favourite goal of his was the goal against Bayern. The touch out the air, the spin and the finish were all glorious.

But, but, but…one time, he forgot to put the toilet seat down.

So in my book of tantrums, he’s in the long list of despots headed by the likes of Gini and Keegan.

Ooh Darwin. Shiny new toy…

Best of luck Sadio and thsnks for all that you did for us.
Enjoy your retirement in the Bundesliga.

If any coach after klopp can get best of him , its got to be nagelsmann.

All of this. I was distraught about Luis. That one I took personally. I still hold an eternal flame for Luis.

I felt a malaise with Phil leaving. How could we possibly progress, tactically. Yet, it turned out to be a monumental turning point in our clubs history.

I love Sadio as if he were my own blood. He’s given us unbelievable memories. I will miss him. Jürgen Klopp was the best thing to ever happen to Sadio Mane’s career. If anyone disagrees, simply put in the tape of 2012 Olympics. Selfish, one track mind, badly wanted to be a singular star. The Boss nurtured Sadio to be the world class player he is today. Sadio is a finished product and a grown man.

My discomfort and sadness with Sadio leaving is an emotional discomfort. The familiarity and dependability of seeing him every week. It feels like Klopp Era 2.0 is upon us. Change doesn’t always feel good.

From a tactical standpoint, I believe we will be just fine.

I do wonder how long leaving has been on his mind? All very quick and efficient in the end and it’s sad to see him go.

One thing with Salah and Mane has always been their availability. We’ll really miss that I feel.

I don’t if people have any thoughts on the fee. It still feels a little low to me given how important a player he’s been for us.

But I also welcome the new chapter. I had wondered before Klopp extended his contract whether he would have enough time to put the next generation into action. All looking good and feasible now.
