I do wonder if getting him off the wage budget though may free up a bit more cash to give Salah his renewal. We would not go to 400k that he asked for but maybe meet halfway from where he is now. Especially as Nunez is apparently on fairly reasonable wages.
I just doubt we will be signing a new forward and midfielder next summer. If rumour is right that we are going to try and get an agreement in place for Bellingham then I think he will be our only signing in 2023.
We will need to avoid FCB next season if at all possible because with Lewandowski gone, Sadio will be THE major threat. He will miss us and we will miss him, which is a good way to part company I guess.
on a personal level he leaves as one of my all time favorites, the stuff he does off the park transcends footballā¦

i wonder if there will be a bit of a hole in the dressing room fabric as much as the one he leaves on the park.
not in the traditional āwe all got on the piss together after trainingā way, but in a slightly different wayā¦maybe he wasnt besties with a TAA or a Ibou, but they would have stared accross that dressing room and seen a teamate doing what he was doing off the parkā¦

As good as Mane is I do think he was helped by our system and the players around him. I just canāt picture him becoming a big time individual or someone capable of replacing Lewandowski. Maybe itās just because he is so intrinsically part of an attacking three in my mind but I canāt see it.
Anyway, my favourite goal of his was the goal against Bayern. The touch out the air, the spin and the finish were all glorious.
All of this. I was distraught about Luis. That one I took personally. I still hold an eternal flame for Luis.
I felt a malaise with Phil leaving. How could we possibly progress, tactically. Yet, it turned out to be a monumental turning point in our clubs history.
I love Sadio as if he were my own blood. Heās given us unbelievable memories. I will miss him. JĆ¼rgen Klopp was the best thing to ever happen to Sadio Maneās career. If anyone disagrees, simply put in the tape of 2012 Olympics. Selfish, one track mind, badly wanted to be a singular star. The Boss nurtured Sadio to be the world class player he is today. Sadio is a finished product and a grown man.
My discomfort and sadness with Sadio leaving is an emotional discomfort. The familiarity and dependability of seeing him every week. It feels like Klopp Era 2.0 is upon us. Change doesnāt always feel good.
From a tactical standpoint, I believe we will be just fine.
I do wonder how long leaving has been on his mind? All very quick and efficient in the end and itās sad to see him go.
One thing with Salah and Mane has always been their availability. Weāll really miss that I feel.
I donāt if people have any thoughts on the fee. It still feels a little low to me given how important a player heās been for us.
But I also welcome the new chapter. I had wondered before Klopp extended his contract whether he would have enough time to put the next generation into action. All looking good and feasible now.
