Sadio Mane (LW) to Bayern

He’s off because he earns only half of what we pay Salah, Van Dijk etc. We should have nailed him down to a better contract last year. He’s consistently been our best player this season and we’ll struggle to replace him.

There’s so many of you treating him like he’s already gone? A little premature, don’t you think?

Yes
But we love a new toy…
Even if the old one is still in perfect order.

Hmm

He wasn’t, on that basis Salah was as well, he was pretty poor that first half, Salah was pretty poor second, they dovetailed and with the added addition of Diaz it helped drive us on with Salah not as in form.

He has still proven he has it after the Covid period in which he struggled but he wasn’t consistently brilliant. And you don’t really know the insights of the club.

Matip was our best player this season. By the way he did no play against Spurs and Madrid :eyes:

Sorry, I was misinformed

Thiago should warn him that it’s compulsory to be drenched in beer after every game at Bayern. That’s why they don’t have any muslim players.

BREAKING NEWS: Thiago Alcantara BETRAYS FORMER CLUB as he warns WANT-AWAY STAR Sadio Mané about GERMAN ALCOHOLISM

We really going to accept less than 40 millions

I can sort of accept a player leaving and wanting to go to Barca or Madrid

They are juggernauts, the climate etc.

But fucking Bayern??? Naaa fuck off

According to the reliable journos we want 50m more I have thought about it the more I’d be ok with that.

I like what the club said. If Sadio wishes to leave it will have to be for a suitable fee, AND it will be when we have a replacement lined up. I’m happy that we are protecting our interests, and that it will be like this if he goes.

I think there is more money to be had from one or two other teams than Bayern, but if Bayern is his only destination then our negotiating power is diminished.

There might yet be a way out of that with Gnabry. They face losing him on a Bosman in a year. We face losing Sadio on a Bosman in a year. Neither club wants to lose its players like that, but if a suitable deal cannot be done they would both rather keep the player for a another year, if it came to it.

But I think that maybe a deal can be done this summer, with Sadio going there and Gnabry coming here. Both clubs save face somewhat too, as they each gain a top player from a situation where it looked like they were just going to leave on a free.

These things always look very neat from a fan’s perspective, but they hardly ever happen.
The only way that Gnabry comes is if Jürgen really rates him.

Has there been an official statement?

I’d be asking West Ham what their asking price is for Bowen. Taking that figure, minusing off Oxlade (going to West Ham as part of the deal) and sending that figure to Bayern.

Price for Bowen - 80 million
Minus Ox - 80 million
Mane price to Bayern - 80 million

I wonder if this means we are going to make a big offer to Salah. I could see Mane’s agent making the case that he should be paid (almost) as much as Salah, with the club not being able to afford both of them without blowing up the wage structure.

Also, I have a hard time believing Bayern paying Mane as much as us but maybe I’m wrong.

We’re gonna sign Gabriel Martinelli. Calling it :+1:

…and sausages.

I’m not aware of it. Just the comments from credible journalists (see thread opener) saying we wouldn’t sell for the low ball price Bayern appeared to try, and we wouldn’t let him go without a suitable replacement being lined up.

Those comments were pretty unequivocal, so I took it as authoritative from the club.
