The Cricket Thread (Part 2)

Exactly. He does.

He’s just an empty headed idiot.

He needed to look at his past history and decide on the cost benefit of having a drink in a nightclub etc.

If he wanted to grab a drink with his mate , there’s nothing stopping him from having a few drinks at his house.

With my ongoing struggles with alcohol , some observations.

most heavy drinkers are ones who stay at home and drink. They prefer to enjoy the solitude more

The ones who binge drink are often the ones who lose it. Because they often come in with a view of having a beer and some food and then end up ordering more drinks. They just don’t realise that they have drunk enough.

Both are equally dangerous

Do we know if they were involved in any skirmish…or did it happen whilst they we’re in the club, and they we’re just bystanders…we’re they drinking?..if so how much?..we the public…haven’t got the full story…

So Harry Brook is the replacement. As in the guy involved in a boozy NZ pre match bar incident that was covered up until after the Ashes.

The gift that keeps on giving.

We are sacking Ted Bundy, the women all complain about being uncomfoprtable around him. Meet his replacement - Peter Sutcliffe

Rumour has it Stokes might retire from the sport all together.

Story seems to be that the young Saracens player threw a punch at Akinson but instead connected with the ECB bodyguard. What happened after and what provoked the incident is still unclear. Can’t help but think there’s more to it if he’s thinking of packing it in completely.

As I guessed yesterday, and I still stand by my assestment of what happened.

  1. Players celebrated test win at Lord’s then back at team hotel.
  2. Celebration got out of hand and some players went out after curfew
  3. Young lad from Saracens saw them out, and got mouthy regarding Ashes tour
  4. Stokes and Atkinson told kid to fuck off and leave them alone.
  5. He didn’t like being disrespected like that and needed to regain his honour in front of friends/teammates

Unfortunately the society we live in does not generally allow sports personalities going out like so in the sense that some dickhead is going to mouth off or have a pop. It’s fucking ridiculous to be completely honest but they should know better by now.

Let’s put it this way; I go out for a drink after a game on Sunday, as I do actually and some random youngster runs his mouth. He’s going to catch a slap or two and we’re going back to our drinks. Happened before and unfortunately will probably happen again as alcohol and some people don’t mix. Story old as time.

Do I blame them for getting into a ruckus if it came their way? Not really. The pertinent point is that they know the chances are its going to happen, they’re in the middle of a Test Series and they really should know better. Brainless all around.

*note to self: be nice to WAH, especially when he’s had a drink.

Lol, no man! I actually get even more quieter than I usually am. Just don’t like mouthy chaps who provoke a situation but I didn’t mean it to come across as the way it might be construed :see_no_evil_monkey:

Utterly shocking decision, but also the right decision as I can’t name anyone else that could do the job

Shocking? That’s the least I expected.

Shocking that they have to go back to Root as there is no other option

Yeah…the appointed vice captain isn’t that far removed from his own incident during the ashes I believe. Plus he’s a bit too wet behind the ears to take on test captaincy.
