Just saw the highlights of the England Australia T20 from today, the Wade non dismissal is a ridiculous piece of umpiring. The most obvious obstruction of the field ever. Why that kind incident should hinge on England having to appeal is beyond me.
Anyway, clearly a weakened Australia bowling attack but Hales and Buttler both looked in great touch. Bowling remains a big concern but I suspect they’ll beat most teams by just racking up some huge scores.
As for the Aussies, why are they persisting with Finch? Seems like a similar situation as to what England had with Morgan last year.
No contract awarded to Lees today, whilst Crawley retains his central contract.
Also rumours England are going to call up 18 year old Rehan Ahmed for their upcoming tour to Pakistan. Attacking leg spinner who scored a 100 at over a run a ball at number 5 in his last CC game and took a five wicket haul. Likely that he wont play but who knows should an injury occur.

Absolutely spanking for the pre tournament favourites, didn’t think NZ had that kind of performance in them really. With all the rain forecast early in the tournament, net run rate could be quite an important factor.
Important that England start well here against a tricky opponent with a lot of quality spin in their side. Think the eleven they’ve picked is their strongest from the set of players they’ve taken.

England have been sensational in the field. Four brilliant catches so far.
Excellent bowling performance from England. Curran has been very impressive at the death of late. Obviously doesn’t have great pace but varies it well and is exactly the sort of character you’d think would do well in those pressure situations. 5-10, best figures for an Englishmen in T20I.
Try and blam these off as fast as possible now.
Not the most convincing of batting performances. Buttler and Hales a bit ponderous. Malan got himself in a rut and couldn’t rotate the strike. Stokes maybe a bit unlucky to get bowled the way he did. Brook needlessly got himself out against Rashid towards the end.
Was a good opportunity to be clinical and get a huge positive in the NRR column but alas getting over the line is the most important thing.
