Never had an issue with Wood’s fitness to be fair.
He’s always suffered with injury, with the series wrapped up I’d be sending him for some rest. Give Jamie Overton a go in the last test.

It seems odd to me that a pitch that produced a huge amount of runs, a fascinating match and a result can be found to be sub standard.

A test pitch can’t be so treacherous that four innings are done in three days. At the same time it can’t be such a lifeless track that a team scores 600 in one day. Definitely below par. The fascinating bit comes from England resolving to go for a win when all conventional wisdom would point to a draw. That’s down to Stokes and McCullum getting the team to do so despite the pitch.

I grabbed a red wine at the break cos it was cold for a Sydney summer and no good for beer.
Hadn’t finished it by the end of the match!! Was planning to get set for a few. Oh well.
Well at least you can enjoy your wine whilst letting the crowd move on - makes getting a train easier

Viv, to paraphrase. If your opening 6 batsmen don’t score 400, you don’t rely on the bowlers, you get better batsmen. Great line and so true.

Real test for these young English batsmen here. Spinners at both ends with some turn and low bounce. Will be a good effort if they can get anywhere near to matching the first innings Pakistan score.
