Two sessions more tomorrow might see Bangladesh winning the second test against Pakistan. That after being fuck all for 6 in the first innings.

Was watching the highlights from their first test win. The Pakistani player who took the final catch in slip to dismiss Bangladesh for 500 odd runs threw down the ball in a mixture of contempt and disgust, probably a mix of “Finally this accused innings is over” and “how TF are we letting THIS lot do this to us”.

He got a first ball duck in their second innings.

Serves you right you prick. Show some respect to your opponents.

Are Pakistan touring England next or is it the other way round ?

England tour Pakistan, then head to NZ I think later that month, or might be the next month - can’t remember the dates

Was never a massive fan of splitting the coaching roles so this is a pleasant surprise, didn’t think they’d be able to convince him to do it given he seemed happy with his previous schedule.

England in trouble. They’ve been sloppy, which is understandable to a degree, but still disappointing.

Very poor to be honest.

Could be a wake up call and hopefully it isn’t all put on the idea that Stokes isn’t there.

Srilanka could crumble and choke though.

They’ve MASSIVELY cocked up this test. Poorish first inning, bad start to bowling at SriLanka but managed to maintain a decent lead and then a shambolic effort in the second inning.

It’ll be good to have Stokes back at the helm.

I feel a lot of it is down to leadership and maintaining standards. Clearly levels have been dropped now that the series is won. Can’t have that if you have designs of beating the likes of Australia away.

Whilst it does look likely that SL will win this test, conditions might still add a touch of spice to the morning session.

Slightly cool, and overcast conditions, so could be a bit of swing for the bowlers to work with.

Going have to get on doing something sharpish :joy:

With all rue respect, they should be able to beat Sri Lanka at home without Stokes.

Congratulations to Sri Lanka, deserved the win. Can point a lot of fingers at England’s 2nd innings but to only get 325 in the 1st innings was a big failure, should have got 450+ and some of them really gifted their wickets away. Maybe some fatigue and complacency set in.

Dan Lawrence has probably played himself out of contention now, can see the rationale in giving him a go given he’s been the spare batsman for ages but in hindsight it was a poor selection to use somebody who usually bats in the middle order as an opener. Jennings has improved a lot since his last inclusion in the test side and has piled on the runs this year, with Pope’s massive inconsistency as well you could make a case that he should have been given a chance as he’d be a decent candidate to slot in at 3 if they feel like they need to make a change in the near future.

Look forward to seeing some more of Kamindu Mendis bat, looks like a superstar in the making who should be batting way higher than 7 for Sri Lanka.

They did

Absolutely! I meant in terms of leadership and maintaining standards. Clearly standards were dropped multiple times in this last test.

Should be beating srilanka at home but Lankans always have an upset in them
