How Isa Guha’s on-air gaffe exposed tensions off the pitch

oppps

What did she say?

Talk about a storm in a teacup! She obviously made a mistake, whether through ignorance or distraction, but she clearly didn’t mean it.
It’s not at all comparable to the Symonds case.
The Aussie press are desperate to find some controversy in this series, trying to demonise Siraj and wind the Indians up in any way they can. It’s pretty pathetic to be honest.

thats your take home?

the aussie press dont seem to actually give a fuck to be honest, as for winding the indians up, yeah right…one way traffic that?

me thinks your bias is framing your opinion…

BBC comentator using terrible framing of Indian cricketer…= must be the aussies fault

EDIT; sorry Fox, not BBC

I saw it in Aussie press first.

My take home is that it’s nothing.

Told you india are shit.

Believe me.

It is a storm in a teacup for sure. I wonder what the outcome would be if the white male commentator next to her said it though.

As for the press, we all know they look for a villain for headlines. It used to be Kohli but he has settled so let’s go Siraj who did cross the line a little.

We are nothing compared to Fleet Street. The Poms have had a fair dig at various Aussies over the years. All part of the fun.

The statement was tone deaf, idiotic and unneeded.

She wasn’t racist in the least as she’s an Indian by descent.

She’ll learn to be more circumspect in her comments going on forward.

Also she’s pretty hot

My ex was a bong. I can’t help but find her hot.

Like you can be racist regardless of your own background.

Of course I don’t believe she is for one moment looking at past.

Also talk of the Aussies the Telegraph ran this as their second comment. Oddly they are happy to still employ Vaughan.

Luckily “Primategate” has distracted the world’s attention from England’s massive humiliation in NZ.
Good process everyone :+1:t4:

It’s good to see Bethell get a decent knock to be fair.

Considering that seemed to be the internet’s biggest moan pre-series it says a lot.

Looks like a tidy player, solid defensive technique and can absolutely whack it when needed as well. Three consecutive second innings 50s in a debut series for somebody so young is impressive, he’s certainly given them something to think about. When Smith is available again you’d assume he’d come straight back in and take the gloves so it might be a straight choice between Bethell and Pope at 3, unless they finally have the balls to drop Crawley and shoehorn one of them in to open.

India might just have escaped with a draw this match.

Australia will still go on and take the other two tests though. Easily.

For once, I agree with you.

India are too reliant on Bumrah, that’s plain to see. They have no idea how to get Head out.

Their batting has been very disappointing in the last two matches.

Their test batting has always been disappointing over the past year and a half. Let go of the likes of Pujara and Rahane way too early.

Time for Rohit and Kohli to exit.

That is a massive blow. England have really struggled to play Baz Ball when he has been out injured.

There isn’t much cricket in the next three months, so it’s not that dramatic.
Stokes bowling career has to be over now though. He still gets in the team as a batsman, but it does change the balance of the team.

True, but it has been his bowling just as much as his batting which has been the cornerstone of Baz Ball being as successfull as it has been.

Don’t follow the county game, but for those who do, is there anyone that could come in to cover the lose of Stokes, the bowler without upsetting the balance of the team?

Atkinson looks like he could fill the all rounder spot, but he’s not really who you want opening the bowling. There’s a need for a Wood or an Archer who can provide real pace.
To be honest, the bowling is a big worry for England, and losing Stokes, who hasn’t bowled much, is the least of their problems.
