Australia will be fine as long as they pick a few bowlers who can hold a tight 9th or 10th stump line for England bats to waft at.

Agreed. Big fan of Uze off that field but he shouldnt be playing test cricket anymore.

Grade cricket but, you’ve got 50 yo able to still perform in that and with the way bats have gone and on a small ground that fella may not even be timing the ball properly every ball.

Edit: some footage of solid hitting. Hard to know how good this is though without seeing the good balls.

Yes, you could tell by the sound of it that they weren’t all coming off the meat of the bat

The team are still here. Jofra is getting a late night yochi yoghurt right now here in Noosa Heads . He’s kitted out in his gold chains…

EDIT: Stokes, Duckett and 3 other players also in one of the restaurants next door. They are certainly not trying to be inconspicuous.

Only on the field of play, where they seem to have disappeared

Are they being hassled? eg by you?

Any reason why they should try to be?

They’re over the white line and should be allowed to live their lives. They’re on a sanctioned break, why should they be ashamed? People wanting them to punished for losing a game of cricket? Bit simplistic, maybe.

It was meant to be light hearted but maybe you’re right.

Not sure anyone wants them ‘punished’ for that, but many of the squad and its management etc have displayed a certain degree of arrogance over their approach to the game, and this series, believing that they don’t need to adapt to the playing conditions here or apply themselves with more determination. It’s clearly not been working very well, so a light hearted comment about their ‘shame’ seems perfectly fine to me. Simplistic, perhaps, but it does reflect certain feeling that they refuse to learn and so are doomed to failure. I’d love to be proved wrong about that, and maybe they’ll surprise us all in the rest of the series, but not if they cannot demonstrate a more professional approach on the field of play. Personally, I don’t care what they do in their free time, be it eating, drinking etc.

Show some dog? Well Australia have certainly brought them to heel so far…

I feel bad for Bash because he was given the false impression that he is ready for an Ashes series in Australia. He shouldn’t have been picked in the first place

Yes, he’s yet another England cricketer who’s being jerked around in the name of expediency. So much for all of that planning over the last 3 years.

Apparently, it’s shit or bazt now :joy:
