It wouldn’t be a surprise to me if Bashir never played for England again. A baffling selection in the first place based on a small social media clip. Feel for those of far superior talent who have been overlooked and discarded over the past couple of years.

Just as puzzling is the way they’ve publicly backed Bashir for so long, even for this series, yet push comes to shove and he’s not selected because the batting needs strengthening (apparently) or they suddenly feel they can’t trust him when it really matters.

Brendan McCullun really is a poor coach. Adelaide conditions should most suit England and they really aren’t making the most of that with their team selection: no spinner and retaining Pope and Carse seem designed to make it easier for Australia.

Sounds like he’s going for a loooong trip to the shitter.

Might produce something more useful than he has so far

Smudge out for Australia, give Uzz a way back into the team batting at No. 4.

Definitely a good call to keep Head and Weatherald opening as they look a better and more comfortable pair than Uzz and Weatherald looked in Perth

My word TNT coverage is dire!

The lead woman is worse than dire!

Maybe you should try the BBC

To be fair it’s hard to line up

Surely if this does not work it McCullum and Stokes gone.

What odds a hundred for Khawaja?

England lucky to have two wickets.

One bad shot and one great catch.

'kinell it’s bad when even Aussie fans (me) are covering their eyes after a dropped simple catch.

Must be much more frustrating being a pom.

Tongue hasn’t been bad so far (as the missus said last night).

Does anyone know where exactly you draw the line between optimistic and delusional?

Will is probably a Spurs fan who thinks they’re gonna push for top 4 his year.

So clear that England have fucked up here not having a proper spinner. Really could have Australia in a tight place, instead they’ve got a trundler who doesn’t really bowl, doesn’t turn the ball and even when Usman doesn’t get to the pitch of the ball he can come.out of his crease without worry.

Are the Aussies;

A, Taking pity on England and giving their wickets away in order to make more of a spectacle of the series

Or

B, Playing with England like a cat plays with a mouse before eating it?
