Anyhow, I need miles and weight loss. That would be a good start. You’re right that I’ll need to set it up one day though.
Speaking to mate and I was saying that one bucket list things is to see TdF mountain stage. Just to appreciate the scale of what these guys do. He asked if I wanted to ride one. Absolutely yes. I actually enjoy climbing. The sense of achievement outweighs the pain for me. Ventoux or Alpe de Huez might change that view though. Alpe de Huez would be my choice purely because I vividly remember Armstrongs time trial up it. I’d want to see how far off I was. Miles no doubt but still.
I just didn’t think he’d be able to back up after yesterday. I suppose it was only an anaerobic 1min effort today and Wout is a machine. Arguably most impressive rider of the tour; certainly if you exclude first eight odd stages where Pog locked up yellow. Looking ahead, he’s got to be a big favourite for Paris Roubaix after only 2 seasons as a road professional!
They have been phenomenal. Add in the work down by Wout to protect Jonas Vingegaard and the stage win for Sepp Kuss after losing the guy they focused their tour around - and number one ranked road.rider in world - Primo Roglic and you have to say Chapeau!
Yeah, picked the wrong line for me. He had to hold of the pedals for one brief moment too. He should have looked at the other side of Van de Aert I think where he didn’t have to try and squeeze between van de Aert and the barrier.
Overall a weird tour for me. Bonkers 1st week followed by nothing much as far as the GC race was concerned.
