Missus bought me a Trek ASR Gravel bike back in 2019.
Used it 3 times.
Honestly didn’t feel safe on the road.
Just sold it, £800 less than she paid for it :face_vomiting:

Nah I’m gutted Cav didn’t break the record. I see they’re gonna offer him a place next year

Fair enough.

Can’t help but think that Astana are so desperate for relevancy they’ll offer the contract to cash in if it does happen, so to me, it feels a bit gimmicky from their side of things.

Saying that, if he does break the record next year, he will 100% have earned it. You don’t win those sprints as a gimmick. If you’re even 1% behind the fastest guys you have no fucking chance.

Philipsen way ahead, but looked like Cav was best of the rest. I reckon he would have done it

Stayed up to watch a slightly disappointing stage last night but was amazing to see acceleration by Pog (and defence by Jonas) - they both blew away any so called competitors. I expect Pog will have wanted to gain more time there given the rest of the course probably favours Jonas but it likely makes for a few intriguing stages of sneaky attacks/nervous shadow boxing before the Alps. Hadn’t realised Sagan was riding this tour - gosh he was brilliant entertainment when he was younger.

Think that’s mostly explained by:

Love the place, hate the roads.

3 Brits in the 1st 10 of general Classment, that’s quite something!

N.B 2 of them are brothers I believe!

Nah, same mum and dad but cousins, I heard.

Get your hearing tested, there’s a problem with it!

So they’re from Kiddiminster I take it?

Pretty much a defensive stage today from Vingegaard. Pogacar with an explosive finish to carve out a few seconds. What is Vingegaard’s strategy? Is he as good at the time trial as Pogacar or does he need to pick a mountain stage and try to ride away from Pogacar farther from the finish? I don’t know much about him and didn’t watch any of last year’s tour. How did Vingegaard beat him last year?

Vingegaard was fastest in the time trial last year but slowed up to let Wout win. Was a lovely moment. I think it’ll be decided before then though. Probably in next couple of stages

Well then…

That was fucking exciting.

There seems hardly a sliver between them.

That crowd was bonkers.

You usually only see hijinks like that on Alpe d’Huez etc.

I was very impressed with how Wout Van Aert saved the day for Jumbo. I reckon the whole team were screaming at him to make that effort to break UAE and even things up on that last climb.

Was wild. He came back from the dead on that last climb.

Did lol at Majka when WVA muscled past him after rising from the dead.

I agree those lunatics will cause something bad they cost potentially Pog the Yellow Jersey with the motorbikes incident imo

I was amazed too he emptied the tank for the second time but I was more impressed with Yates who killed 2 birds with one stone he looked after his leader at the same time as polishing his GC position
