The TV Thread redux

Ha, no. It was just the absolutely worst part of the show. Need drama and conflict? Make two awful people act in ridiculous way to express their pissed offness with each and in turn make a bad situation worse.

You are not alone! Season 2 finale, all my hopes for a certain characterā€™s death were dashed and replaced with a different outcome I never asked for!

If you do not mind watching Korean/Chinese-Dramas, there were 2 or 3 shows with fantastic children actors, that even the adults were amazed by their actiings.

  1. ā€œMotherā€ - Korean Drama. Wiki link. Heo Yool played the character in the entire series, was fantastic. I wept for her character in the show. She was that good.

  2. ā€œHeavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabreā€ - Chinese Drama. Wiki link. Han Haolin played the lead character at the child age. (3 actors play the character: Child, youth and young adult). That was the first time I watched Han Haolin and I thought that his acting was really good. Facial expressions were excellent. (He played in a few episodes.)

  3. Joy of Life - Chinese Drama. Wiki link. Once again Han Haolin played the leading character when he was a child. (He only played in 2 episodes.)

How do you guys rate The Heartbeat??? Iā€™m running low on Poirot and looking for options at the moment.

Heartbeat is more of a housewives drama than a police show.

If your looking for a cop/detective drama I suggest one of the following

The Bodyguard, The Wire, Luther, True Detective, Bosch, Sherlock (BBC), Fargo.

Not as good but worth considering also

Tin Star, The Following, Killing Eve, Homeland

To add to the above: Line of Duty.

The Wire is the best TV series out there imo.

I really liked the following;

Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
The Bodyguard
Handmaids Tale
Money Heist - but gets a bit meh towards the latter seasons
2 Weeks to Live - a short fun one
Killing Eve
Homeland - to a point then it gets a bit boring I think
Silent Witness - never ending fun!
The Walking Dead - I gave up, then got back into it. Itā€™s long overrun now I think
Vikings - love a bit of Ragnar and Floki

Thanks for the suggestions mates

I tend to avoid Netflix stuffs since I have to watch those on my mobile and itā€™s not good for my eyes. So I look for old series/movies that are available on YouTube.

If you can enjoy watching something with English Subtitles due to it being a foreign language (Dutch)ā€¦ There is a series called Tabula Rasaā€¦ which may well hold your intrigue and attentionā€¦ long after the last episodeā€¦!

Coincidentally I finished watching it a couple of nights ago as well. Agree with you entirely, brilliant series that comes across as being so authentic you think it must be based on real events.

This doesnā€™t make sense. Killing Eve is one of the best series ever made!

For me it suffered from the same effect as GOT. For a long time it was the best thing on TV. It had set itā€™s standards so high, that by the end became a dissapoinment when it failed to deliver.

Season 1 of Killing Eve was brilliant, as good as anything on TV. Fantastic dynamic, unpredictable, great plot and tension. By end of season 3 it was all a bit meh. All a bit deflated, the dynamic was no longer there, plot a bit weak.

Pretty much my take as well. We were kind of dragging ourselves over the line to finish it by the end. S1 was excellent though as you say.
