The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

Well he posted it a couple of minutes before the ITKs broke Isak agreeement.

Maybe it isn’t cryptic he’s just saying some fanbases will be sad. Like Man City are in for a keeper, Arsenal want another CB probably, Chelsea will want 5 more pawns to sell at a later date. Man Utd well…

Would be nice if we started playing well, mind.

From what I can see and read here the biggest difference between now and back then has been the addition of entitled children like yourself.

I don’t think I’ve read a post from you that didn’t include complaining because you want more. It comes across as being like something you’d use in a script for a Paris Hilton reality tv show or some other nonsense like that.

More, give your head a shake wanting a squad to be as strong as last year yes.

The options after Mo and Gakpo for wide areas

A player who played 81 minutes of Premier league football last year.

A player signed to play right back.

Possibly a new signing brought in as centre will be pushed to the left.

A 16 year old with 7 minutes of league football

You can also tell you are most memorable poster on here when you 16 mentions while in the air and not even posting.

Well that’s one way to describe Hugo….Also think you forgot Isak.

I wonder how many times we’d have to break the British transfer record in one window to keep certain posters happy.

Nigh on £450m spent, the three most expensive purchases in Europe this window, three wins from three and not one jot of positivity to be found in anything they post.

Baffles the mind.

Same scenario as Hugo then square peg round hole.

I’m pretty happy with the squad.
Will be quite upset to be described as a simpleton though.

Best player on Sunday was a supposedly square peg in a round hole!

We’re top of the league. Have broke our transfer record twice. Signed the two best strikers available in Europe. Replaced both full backs.

Can only think you’re a troll. Complaining to mods when you’re lucky to still be here IMO

Can i ask a polite question do you actually read previous posts, going off this reply I’m not quite sure.

Me needing to give my head a shake?

“Possibly a new signing brought in as centre will be pushed to the left.”

I love the way you try to make this sound like a problem instead of stating why our new signing might be played as a left sided forward. Completely ignored the fact that we have signed possibly the best number 9 in the league, definitely the best when looked at players suitable for the way we play.

When City signed Haaland a few years ago and we got Nunez I remember having conversations about the fact that whilst we thought Haaland was a better player he wasn’t suited to the way we played.

Likewise by the way Slot wants to play, going by his transfers and even things like his interview with Carra, involves having attacking full backs which will allow our ‘wide’ forwards to actually get to play closer to the goal.

Other people will have their own opinions on this but my favourite spell from the Klopp era was when we had our fullbacks hogging the touchline and being able to put crosses in, Firmino dragging the centerbacks all over the place by dropping deep and our wide forwards pushing in field. It let both Mane and Salah attack in a manner more like actual strikers instead of wingers.

With our new fullbacks it looked as if it would have been Salah and Gakpo who would be able to benefit from Kerkez and Fringpom signing. Now if we are in the situation that you just mentioned if we have Ekitike being allowed to play around in a front line that can become a lot narrower whilst in attack - especially when the opposition also have Isak, Salah and even Wirtz to worry about - is a Hell of a lot better than the story you are so desperate to portray.

And what in God’s name is your last sentence about? If nothing else screams that you’re desperate for attention then bragging about the amount of people who disagree with your posts then surely you’ve just uttered it with that statement.

Isn’t that the aim of a troll?

I have read most of what you put and all you have done is bleat that the team is worse, as we haven’t replaced who we have sold, yes I would have loved to have got Guehi, kept Diaz and not lost Jota, but I also live in the real World and understand that players chose other paths for whatever reasons and the club feel other players are better suited.

By using Szob as an example, regarding your complaint of using square pegs in round holes, it shot down your argument.

Players are adaptable and sometimes you will be surprised at what is truly a players best position, there are many players in our squad that can play in several positions, Grav for example, Slot rates him as a CB as do I, but he suits us better in midfield. Arne has on several occasions played him there when we really need a goal and Arne sacrifices Ibou for an extra forward.

I do think that Arne also see’s Frimpong as adaptable and would use him in Mo’s position when he goes to Afcon, he used him there preseason, however that may change with Isak signing.

All in all I see that we have a great squad and have players that can fill multiple roles, you are blinkered and pigeon hole a player rather than looking a players abilities and how they can be adapted to other roles if required.

Forget all that (all valid points I know).

Arne just won the league with Jurgen’s team. His master strike was having Grav play at 6.

The magnificent transfer team has been working on a squad reshaping strategy for at least a year!

You think they just randomly chucked out money and bought probably two of the most talented players we’ve ever had on a whim?

Please think before you post @Jackbenimble

We spent the most this season. With netspend only slightly below arsenal.

We’ve fast forwarded a revamp that normally takes two seasons at other clubs or even us in any other season to one under one transfer window. The only missing link is the Guehi transfer not happening.

The club can’t be blamed for CP’s change of heart. We had a target in mind , that didn’t work out. Shit happens, we deal with it and if possible revisit in January.

Hopefully we get Konate locked into a new deal (not holding my breath on that though).

We’ve improved as a team across all departments.

Quansah never looked likely to play much under Slot and we did get good money for him. Leoni will only get better and better the more he plays. And this situation allows him to stake a proper claim. Joe Gomez is a old hand who’s got a proper link-up with Virgil. And he’s there to see us home (whenever fit). It’s not ideal but if we can keep Gomez fit for atleast 60% of this season , we should be fine in the CB department.

Replaced Tsimikas with the best left back in the league (Kerkez)

Replaced Trent with Frimpong and also found versatility there in the form of Soboszlai. We lose out a fair bit of what Trent provided us , but we probably gain goals and assists from the other transfers. And not mention that Frimpong / Bradley and Soboszlai inject pace down the wings. What we lacked with Trent.

We’ve got the spine of the midfield set with Bajcetic being retained to provide backup. Hopefully he shows his quality this season and builds on his break out season.

We’ve added Wirtz, Ekitike , Isak to replace Jota , Diaz and Nunez.

Chiesa seems set to see more minutes as well. Rio will get his time. And so should Nyoni.

Plenty to cheer about for a Liverpool fan on what looks (in paper atleast) to be a spectacular window.

All the doubts over the CB position will disappear if Leoni immediately slots in and looks the business.
