The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

I don’t think we can afford the wages, just don’t see it alongside the signing on fee.

If Real can afford him, so can we. Big IF though.

It’s like waiting for a bus - once one of the big transfers happen, a few big ones will follow in quick succession. I just hope we are in and amongst it all when it happens (inbounds - not out!) although I doubt it.

I’m with @Walshy07 - both Sancho and Haaland wont leave. I suspect Sancho goes, Haaland stays another season.

Kane will move too. The big question where will Divock end up?!

I would think Liverpool would have more cash to spend than the likes of real or barca at this current climate… As would a lot of other clubs.

If he really is intent on leaving psg , it wouldnt be for salary reasons as psg would better whatever offer does come his way.

Mbappe liverpool is wishful thinking though. We’d be better served getting the next mbappe

I can. Dortmund right now is primarily a feeder club. Sad to say but its true. That’s what theyve been even when klopp was there. Just the genius of klopp and his team to overperform. They realistically arent going to win the league anytime soon.

If they get an unbelievable offer for haaland which along with the sancho amount both balances their accounts and allows them to recoup some of their losses due to covid… It would help them gain an advantage in building the next set of guys… To sell again.

and to be fair, in today’s marketplace it’s not a bad thing to be a club that has a reputation for developing players through their academy. as long as the players aren’t leaving on Bosmans and screwing the club out of a recoup of their investment. to be able to keep the club profitable and keeping a strong stream of quality flowing through that stadium, well it’s a very good model if done correctly. Southampton has made a business off selling players to LFC LOL!

None of them came through the academy though!

so we just need to hire their scouts!

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love it to happen. But the list of reasons why it can’t/won’t far outweigh the rumours of him “only wanting us or Madrid” for me.

Happy to bow out on this one so I don’t seem like I’m stamping on people’s dreams.

I would assume the only teams who can buy Mbappe are Man City or Chelsea.

Unless it’s structured in some way.

fixed it for ya

Henderson, Keita and Ox have a very clear and consistent pattern of recurring injury though.

On paper our midfield looks fantastic. But the pessimist in me tells me we will only see that midfield on paper this season given their injury history!

We need a midfielder, even with the numbers we have. Two of them very injury prone, one starting to pick up too many injuries, another very old and nearing the end of what he can offer at the top.

So yes, add another, for sure.

And if one of Ox or Keita leaves - my choice would be the latter, as Ox has more versatility, then fine, as it helps to offset the cost of bringing in a midfielder who will play/be available more.

Feeder club where on the really wealthy can shop, or possibly wait till there is a discontinued item.

The Wilson links looks like a mic drop to get the UK based teams to bid. Edwards getting into his groove!

Mic drop? Get into the groove?

He isn’t Madonna on karaoke nights, is he?

A man of many talents, is our Mikey.

There are targets. Florian Neuhaus of Borussia Monchengladbach has been looked at, though sources say that was largely down to a release clause which has now expired, while Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and Aston Villa’s John McGinn both have admirers within the Reds’ recruitment team.

Renato Sanches, linked tentatively in recent weeks, has been watched, but more intriguing, perhaps, is Ryan Gravenberch, Wijnaldum’s international team-mate with the Netherlands.

I think these paragraphs slipped through unnoticed. I wasn’t impressed by either Sanches or Gravenberch for the most part. However, Sanches looks like Liverpool’s Wijnaldum 2.0 with Portuguese national team in Euro 2020, while certain people here have been very impressed with Gravenberch. What do you folks think?

The McGinn “links” can’t be real. He would bring nothing to this club that we don’t already have in abundance.

No thanks and hard pass. And at £50M? Lol
