The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

I think we are already at what we wanted moneywise to bring someone in. I think it’s freeing up the squad spot that Shaqiri takes up we want sorting before bringing someone in… Pointing to a none UK player.

I don’t know much about Bowen, but if we sold Shaq and Origi and brought him in would people be happy with that?

I’d rather have kept Wilson.

while it is probably most likely that an incoming player is a non-UK one, I don’t think it necessarily points to it being a non-UK player, the club will be working to a multi year plan on who to try to bring in. Freeing up that space now, could make incoming deals next summer easier for example.

You can go through the history of a lot of the original “ITKs” and now all seem to now offer paid services or some sort.

Sam Maguire - Does analysis and charges via Patron
GrizzKhan - Has a podcast type thing
KarlThyer - Sells prints and mugs etc.

To name a few.

Although Karl does quality stuff, and has stopped the ITK stuff.

Always been a Shaq fan too, think he is great depth player to have in the squad but with a fully fit Jota in the squad we essentially have a better version already available.

If we can get around 15 mil for him I think its good business as long as he doesn’t leave for next to nothing because we get robbed by an Italian team I’m ok with him going.

He is alittle bit injury prone too and we need more reliable options with Ox and Keita constantly in the treatment room.

I don’t think we’re too far away from seeing someone come in.

He played 14 times last year, 9 of which were him being brought on as a sub. Only made 90 mins once last season.

The stat is therefore somewhat skewed by the fact Shaq comes on late in games, as opposed to De Bruyne and Grealish who played from the start for most of there games.

Albeit I think he’s a handy wee player, its time to cash in and rely on younger players that can improve, not an older player that’s now past his best.

He needs to move on because he doesn’t fit us tactically, I’d still class him as a good enough, cheap player, perfect to be a squad option at a top side or “starter” at the next level down. So clearly a good deal for the teams he might move to.

I would say we’ve probably got some cash in the bank anyhow on top of sales.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we bought two once we’ve cleared all these out. Fact of the matter is we had too many players that offered us nothing and a lot of that’s been cleared out.

He played in that system a few times last year and was largely crap.

He was so poor in the 10 because he refused to make any runs off the ball. Jones played further ahead around the same time period for a couple of games and was far more effective because of his willingness to drive forward with or without the ball and break the lines.

We’ve moved beyond Shaqiri now, he’s not good enough. He looks like he should be playing masters football.

Is Lazio actually interested in buying Shaqiri, he so openly said thats where he wants to move to and in general we usually wont sell the player unless our valuation is met for them…

Mbappé confirmed. He’s the only player I can think of that the whole fanbase would like.
