The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

I can’t see AFCON happening in Jan 2022, unless there are big changes in the vaccine programme

This feels right for me. when I’ve watched some of the championship games he’s been involved in, he’s plays like Shaq-lite. Great left foot, will try to do some pressing but really doesn’t read the play all that well without the ball and doesn’t get into really good positions.

Will contribute, but definitely does drift in/out of the play.

Haaland.

Only Fabs is a real DM and we should be looking at his succession imo.
Only Hendo is real cover however he is soo much better doing that box to box stuff.
Ok Thiago can play the deep lying playmaker there but again its far from his best position imo
Keita? I wouldn’t trust him there at all!!!
There’s cover and theres scraping the barrel.

He’s 27. Hasn’t even peaked yet and you want his successor!?

Planning his succession then. I don’t see what the problem with that is as we haven’t another DM in the team without listing starters in other positions.
If you don’t want another DM say so!

I know we’re not in the same position. What I meant was, sometimes you think there is a problem and it turns out to be the case, as it was with the centre backs. And at other times, the problem you think you is there is solved in a way you couldn’t see as with the left back situation.

First time we lose any two of Ox, Naby or Henderson at the same time, that fear will start to creep in if we haven’t bought anyone else. But maybe Jones steps up and kills it, or Naby does a season almost uninterrupted with injury and we look back and think what were we worried about.

But if this is Milner’s last season with us, we’ll need a CM next summer anyway, maybe even two if we’re not giving Ox or Naby new deals and need to sell them. If we can afford to carry the extra man through this season, I would rather that than rely on the fitness of some of the guys we have.

Let’s hope so, I do and I don’t think he’s that far from it either.

that’s all we can hope for, is for those two players to really give our “usual” midfielders a challenge for their starting positions.

I hope Tony Gallacher eventually make it here.

Would be nice to have someone who sounds like a character from Crossroads (or some other 1970s soap opera) in the team.

AFCON will happen.

If not in Cameroon, then in Dubai or some other forsaken place.

Dubai isn’t in Africa and neither of those places are forsaken

In Atleti and La Liga?

Very doubtful…

My point is, AFCON will be held no matter what.

He’s their second highest earner behind Oblak, reported to be over e300k a week. Only Koke and Felix are anywhere near those two. Outside of that group they only have a small number of players earning even low 6 figures a week.

Choosing between Sarr or Bowen is a bit grim.

Ah great days.

Better than choosing between Shaqiri or Ox though
