If PSG have not paid what they owe Monaco… Get the Bailiffs onto them!
Still saying, this guy has a chip on his shoulder.
Which guy? What chip?
I think it was Benzema.
Don’t think so. It’s more when the club essentially spends nothing and there’s still weak parts to the team despite how good the team is overall. There are areas which could be improved and in past seasons went neglected. The likelihood is it has cost certain success and the ability to compete on all fronts.
The club spends comparatively very little compared to other top clubs. That’s not always going to be sustainable. We’ve arguably got the best manager in the world operating almost on a shoe string like budget. Looking at current clubs in the league over the past five years we’re about the tenth highest spenders. The club could be doing more.
The fact is that had, say, Chelsea, bought Harvey Elliot from Dortmund for stupid money, LFC Twitter would be doing its nut, complaining about FSG not spending the money and short-changing the fans.
There is a section of LFC fans who think it’s more important to spend money trying to keep up with the likes of City, Utd and Chelsea, than it is to actually win stuff.
Liverpool have got a phenomenal squad, to the point where I don’t think you can do much more by throwing money around. The first eleven is packed with genuine world class quality, if not the best in the world.
I disagree there are weak parts to the team. Looking at our first eleven, I don’t think there are players out there who can improve on what we have.
I keep saying this, but if you want Liverpool FC spending more money and bringing in new players every season, then the first order of business is to get rid of Klopp, cos that clearly isn’t how he wants to work.
Disagree.
Alisson: too fat.
Trent: not even good enough for Gareth Southgate
Matip: too eccentric
Virgil: injury prone
Robbo: Scottish
Fabinho: too bald
Henderson: funny gait
Thiago: not good enough for Spain
Salah: never passes to Mané
Mané: never passes to Salah
Bobby: spends more time at the dentist than on the training ground.
Useless, the lot of ‘em.
It’s got nothing about what makes sense to me. FSG have never said they would report a profit in every year, and nor have they. They have promised sustainable investment and growth and that can be achieved in years where you report a loss.
Yes, but FFP in effect sets a timeframe in which you can report losses when investing heavily into the club.
You are implying as much with comments like this;
I’m fairly certain that it’s been reported that FSG don’t take a profit from the annual revenue of the club, but they don’t invest beyond that revenue. Effectively, they expect the club to cover its own fees and wages with its revenue.
When you consider that the value of the club has appreciated about 10x what it was when they bought the club, they can certainly make a bundle off of their investment if they decide to sell.
Please can we have a separate finance thread. Clearly some people love to chat about this but it’s not transfer rumour related and honestly, it’s a bit tedious to see the same assumptions and clarifications rear their head every couple weeks.
But Hendo is good to have about the place.
He does card tricks and sings on the Kareoke
Sounds like the Mbappe deal is done. Absolute madness.
Just as well, no space for glory hunters in Liverpool, so it’s best that he pads his cabinet with a few more trophies in a semi competitive league. I guess it’s a move up for him competition wise.
Overrated anyways.
Can’t knock a guy for following his dream, good luck to him if the move happens.
It was good fun while it lasted though, wasn’t it.
So, Haaland, €75-90m, we definitely have a chance there. I’m saying it’s on.
Yip, I’ll never forget that time he gave the ball away and Bobby scored, and then we went on to win the CL. Thanks for the memories.
That could be an entertaining scramble. At current talked about fee could be affordable to a number of top clubs and there are arguably at least several who would be keen to refresh their forward line.
And Manchester United.
