I don’t think it is a case of us being skint. Money is no doubt tight, and we’ll have spent a fortune on the new contracts this summer but the more important factor is the current squad size and the role of any incoming player.

This might be the quietest summer window in recent memory when it comes to rumors.
I heard we are interested in Andy Caroll just to be in trend
Rumours of Callum Hudson-Odoi which would be brilliant but not sure he’s quite what we need to add (unless maybe the plan is to turn him into a false 9 option?) and not sure I believe it’ll happen this close to the deadline. Chelsea have been clearly open to his departure all summer but he’s under long term contract so they aren’t going to be pressured into selling him so us being a rival I don’t see that being a quick negotiation and more likely something which would take a longer time to come to agreement over. That’s if the rumours are even true.
I thought indykaila was classified as the most unreliable of the unreliable… so wouldn’t adding it here just confuse everyone?

For all the humour and banter don’t look at the “Indykaila” entity as a real person who is “itk”! Look at it as a small group of people running a media company that commentates and spreads news on football matters exclusively on twitter. Its all stuff they are hearing from other sources or taking educated guesses at and very few things actually happen these days without it being an Indykaila “exclusive” at some point first.
I assumed that Edwards was headed elsewhere when the news broke about his potential departure, probably to become the CEO. I can’t see him going to Madrid to become another member of a transfer committee, though.

Think for once i’m going to spend transfer deadline day away from the internet and just enjoy rhe nice weather, go out for some lunch and log back in at midnight to see the result one way or the other.

Is anyone buying the narrative that Hendersons contract extension just happened to be completed today? Whatever. Been agreed weeks from the reports, it’s been released today as the most obvious of obvious crowd pleasing, distraction techniques. Great he has extended, great they’ve all extended. But this all does not have to be done during the summer, it’s a PR charm and distract offensive. Top clubs renew the contracts of their stars, not losing them for free very often but also don’t have positive net spends in the market when they have pressing needs within their squads and just had a disappointing season. All 19 other Premier League sides and 5 Championship sides have higher net spends than us this summer.
