The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

In Aussie Rules circles this is colloquially referred to as a ‘no dickhead policy’.

We are at the very top of the tree. We have no need whatsoever to bring in such types.

No dickheads.

Please tell, that is an imposter who looks like Jack in that picture? :see_no_evil:

In the US for basketball we have the NBA’s unofficial Two Knuckleheads Rule: You can win if you’re counting on one knucklehead … as long as you don’t give him someone to hang out with

It kind of applies to all sports. Looking at our current team, we could sign a Knucklehead or a Dick or a Tool, and there is a very good chance he would be brilliant for us because the team has enough leadership to keep him in line and motivated. And we have enough depth and a manager who won’t hesitate to sit him down or make him train alone if he disrupts anything.

But the other side of that is that we have built the team we have because Klopp is smart enough to not rely on Knuckleheads (remember how quickly super Mario was shown the exit, and as much as many of us loved Sakho how little tolerance was shown for his off field unreliability)? So why would we start taking those kinds of risks now when we don’t have to?

That my dear is ‘the’ Jack in all his glory. No imposters appear in this photo.

Grealish is absolutely nailed on for United. He will replace Pogba this summer, keeping up their quota of midfielders and complete bellends.

Apparently Grealish attracts the most fouls, cocky little dickheads generally do.

With Wolves apparently interested in Origi, and…

…according to Carra, Coady being the “obvious” choice for Liverpool, is some sort of a swap deal a possibility in January?

The Coady links are just because he’s a scouser. He’s not remotely good enough.

Coady plus £25m would be fair imo.

I’m guessing that £25m makes you more comfortable with his diving?

I’ve only even seen him diving once and that was against us.

Yes, and that’s worth £25m in damages.

So, agent Carra isn’t in the running for chief LFC scout?

What’s with all this Folarin Balogun (Arsenal) to LFC chatter? Seeing quite a bit of it today on the socials.

There were some Balogun rumours going around last week.

The club made £45 million on Brewster and Solanke, if there’s any talk of Balogun being available I’m sure we’ll be all over it.

Not seen it myself but I do remember those reports from a few months back (I think he made his Arsenal debut not long after that). If there’s one Arsenal striker I’d like Liverpool to have, it’s Martinelli but I’ll settle for Balogun seeing what the club did with some rich clubs’ rejects, like ILLOK said.

Latest bullshit rumours from the BBC gossip column:

Liverpool are interested in signing Real Madrid and Brazil defender Eder Militao, 22, while Argentine free agent Ezequiel Garay, 34, is also set to join Jurgen Klopp’s side. (Todofichajes - in Spanish)

Interesting that the Militao one is still doing the rounds; personally, I think he has all the attributes we look for in a centre half. Garay would’ve been a great signing ten years ago.

I think it was said from someone reliable not long ago that Garay was offered to us and we rejected it.
