The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 1)

@ILLOK @Nikola there is some bloke on Twitter today that is saying Balogun to LFC is going to happen. It’s not a journo and it’s not a bullshit ITK. It’s some chap in between those opposite ends that rarely posts false stuff. Balogun has only 6mos left on his contract and Liverpool are looking for a deal.

Apparently he’s open to moving abroad. Well, he’s from London so maybe he thinks Liverpool is abroad.

The player is attracting interest from Germany and Italy, and he’s open to a move abroad if he doesn’t extend his deal. Given that his current contract expires at the end of the season, he can sign a pre-contract agreement in January if he wants to.

Maybe the getting pissed in Tenerife and laying in the middle of the road?
Or maybe it’s the repeated times he’s been photographed using laughing gas?

The problem is the guy, as talented as he might be on the pitch, off the pitch is a fucking moron. No way would I want him anywhere near our squad

I wonder if he’s able to play on the flanks. He’ll be twenty next season, so I doubt he can slot into the first team right away but, then again, maybe he’s seen as someone who can take Origi’s spot? I haven’t seen that particular tweet but I trust you - and it comes only days after The Athletic reported that Wolves are looking to sign Origi. I wouldn’t put it past Edwards and Klopp, to be honest.

Tried to sign Balogun on FM, although I was managing a non-league team at the time… :grimacing:

In seriousness, it sounds like he’s been doing very well in their European games, and AFAIK Nik he’s a central striker chiefly.

Coady is good in a back 3 or the defensive system Nuno operates. He is a system success take him out of that and hes back to his Sheffield United standards.

AFAIK. :open_mouth: :joy:

Do you know differently?

64/68 games at CF, by the way:

No, not that, it’s just the first time I see someone using “AFAIK”.

Erm, ok, it’s pretty common internet parlance - ‘as far as I know’.

I wouldn’t trust the BBC to correctly report the weekend’s football results

Hmmm, would I like to kick a cocky little dickhead? I guess this makes complete sense. So don’t sign him, he’ll never get through training in one piece.

To be fair, I have had many posters tell me they want us to sign Grealish just to see @Scott.Jones have to come around to supporting him.

Just to be clear, I’m not one of those.

With the links to Renato Sanchez I thought I would add the obligatory youtube Video

Looks a tank in the Gini role for me but I would prefer to see him in a whole game.

Sanches might have the stamina of Gini but he seems to play more like the Keita role, preferring to run with the ball. Not sure whether his big club era is over but he is doing well now seemingly. If anyone can elevate a player’s career, its Klopp and team so lets see how it pans out.

Biggest thing with replacing Gini will be replacing his durability imo. Has he ever been injured in all his time with us? That availability can’t be understated

No way Depay can handle being 5th inline

He would start kicking up more or less straight away and then we end up with a demotivated poisonious Depay in the dressing room.

I wouldnt take him on a free TBH

After some of the stories from his time at United doing things deliberately the opposite of what his manager asked just to say he makes his own decisions. No thanks we have a no fuckwits policy these days.

Neither would I, All the warehouses in Liverpool would not be big enough to store his enormous ego.

Guess we will be linked to every defender in the world this January. Personally we do need to get one now with our third one out with a long term injury.
