but is it multiple scouts multiple times or multiple scouts once or one scout multiple times? I’m not sure if this means we’ve seen the desired 10 games or not.
It’s awful grammar, had to read twice to make sure I was reading it right.
Can only be multiple times…scouts is already plural, why would you have “multiple” before it?
Or multiple ‘time scouts’
Could be a manc?
Has he said this again recently or are these the quotes from a few years ago?
Don’t know, I had similar thoughts over whether or not this was a recent quote. I was hoping someone on here would be able to clarify
There was meaningful noise about this before the world cup and it seems odd to me as it doesnt look like an area we need to address, especially given how much he’d likely cost.
In engineering terms, if one scout can get the required exposure from ten games, then 10 scouts can do the same with 1 game.
Yes, it sounded odd to me on that basis. I’m not familiar with the player’s best positions but it led me to wonder whether current injuries are worse than we have been led to believe?
Jota you mean?
Not going to live Gvardiol and Konate is a beast of a center back pairing…
Gvardiol + Caicedo + Bellingham/Enzo + a Wide Forward over the next few windows would set us up for the next 3-4 years.
Don’t see us going big for Gvardiol.
I see him possibly at a place like Chelsea. But we’ll see by next summer what are the options for him.
A club in the need of a starting left sided CB, prepared to pay big money (possibly close to a new CB record).
New owners incoming.
Sign me up for some of that.
We need a cover for Fabinho though! Not had one for ages. Hendo plays there, but only if he has to, and he’s getting on in the years as well. The fact that we tried to sign Tchouameni first tells me that position wise, its a higher priority.
There are 3 players in our squad that are more or less irreplaceable: Mo, Trent and Fab. The drop in level if they are out (or not in form as seen with Fab this year somewhat) is massive. We need someone now who can: 1. give them some rest and let them refresh themselves 2. fight with them constantly for the position to keep them sharp.
I know Calvin looks really good and has the hallmarks of being a proper footballing RB in the future, but don’t think we can throw him in the deep end just yet. I’ve been a bit surprised that we didn’t get any Tsimikas-esque cover for Trent. With Mo also we need a left footed winger, or someone who’s used to playing on the right. Its a shame neither Diaz, Jota, Darwin or Bobby are comfortable there, and lot of times we go to using Ox Chambo (if fit) or Harvey, which again is just a stop gap fix.

Caicedo can play as 6 and I have a lot of faith in Bajcetic.
Also if Bellingham did come in (or another right sided midfielder), you’d expect Henderson to get more minutes as a no.6 as it’s actually his best position.
Based on not a lot I think we might see more 4231 going forward, with Elliot, Carvalho and Nunez we certainly have the players who suit that.
These Bennacur stories are really interesting. It’s probably not a player too many people thought about, but now the link is out there and the knowledge of his contract situation is evident, its a move that makes a lot of sense. Technically sound, good passer, hard worker, young and with the right move still has his best football still ahead of him. Someone like him in the Jan window and then someone more of a physical presence in the summer, like Caicedo, and all of a sudden the midfield would look a lot more imposing.
Left footed as well to provide us with some natural balance in the middle of the pitch. From what I’ve seen of him I like him, a real all rounder capable of fulfilling multiple roles. Sounds like Arsenal and Chelsea both want him as well so could be a bit of a fight to get him.
