He comes in at 31st on my list of CMs (far above Liverpool’s highest placed midfielder) - statistically one of the more balanced midfielders in terms of defensive and attacking output in Europe.
Amrabat of Morocco looks a decent footballer, dynamic and strong. I will give 5 of our midfielders for him.
I’ve got Amrabat ranked at 188th of qualifying midfielders, ranking slightly above average in both defensive and offensive stats. He ranks ahead of Jordan Henderson and Harvey Elliott on current performance levels, although Elliott’s attacking performance is significantly better (and worse defensively).
I think I would warn against Amrabat as being someone standing out in an international tournament, rather than at club level.
Is this a different Amrabat to the one at Watford a few seasons ago? He was somewhat inconsistent but had some good performances
The younger brother.
Where’s Thiago on your list?
Hes not on it due to lack of game time when I pulled the data but if he were he would be around 80th - all the stats are based on this season, not the last 365 days (he would rank in the top 10 on that scale).
Not really both times he played us I thought he was going to have a heart attack from tracking back. He’s an alright midfielder but we should be looking higher.
Worth a punt in the right circumstances eg if we definitely lose Ox, Naby, Milner and say if Thiago decided to move on, and we don’t have enough funds to go round to replace all of them, then sure.
But if we go into next season with Thiago, Hendo, Fab, Jones, Elliott, Caceido and Ferndandez that should be enough.
If we have to go BIG on Bellingham, then Kessie for less than £10m to make up the numbers wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.
No, he’s shit.
That nails it then.
Kessie for 10m?
Are Barca still in a financial crisis or something or is it because they’re sitting pretty top of the league feeling a bit charitable with Christmas looming.
Kessie looked gassed the first half alone when Milan came visiting. No thanks.
We have already used up our yearly punt with Arthur.
BBC:
“ Atletico Madrid would be willing to sell Joao Felix for 100m euros (£86m) after signing the Portugal forward, 23, for 126m euros (£113m) in 2019. (AS - in Spanish)”
Who in their right mind would pay that much for essentially a flop!
Ah ha you don’t understand. We are amortizing our punts, means we can now do more punts.
From today’s BBC gossip column…
Manchester City would be willing to sell their record signing Jack Grealish, 27, to fund the signing of fellow England midfielder Jude Bellingham, 19, from Borussia Dortmund . (Football Insider)
Bellingham is also a target for Paris St-Germain . (Le10Sport - in French)
Okay, it’s only gossip. But if the sportswashing clubs are in for Bellingham (and why wouldn’t they be?) we have next to no chance.
By the way, the fact that Man City can waste £100m plus wages on Grealish merely underlines how unequal the playing field actually is.
grealish was an odd buy for City. He slows the game down too much and spends half his time on the floor.
Thats better
