Sander Berge is one of those rumours that makes no sense on any level. If we were remotely interested in him, he’d have been a red ages ago.

If we sign Enzo, then we’re becoming everything that made us laugh at post-Ferguson Man United. I mean, the lad ony signed for Benfica last summer and he hasn’t managed to play even a half-season there because of the World Cup!

He was a well enough known quantity when he was still in Argentina that we supposedly had earmarked him as a target then. Presumably, given work permit issues, the plan was to wait until he moved to Europe, monitor closely and move at a later point if he thrived.
Other than general skepticism over our moves in wake of the seeming fuck up in the summer and all the all goings on in the club, but its difficult to draw parallels with the bad operation Utd had, which seemed to based on reflexively pursuing players based on them being high profile and expensive.
