The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 2)

I wouldn’t call it cheap. But the reality is winning in the Premier league requires spending.

Manchester United’s net spend is 216m this year.
Meanwhile Liverpool net spend is only 53m.

Manchester United was once a laughingstock now they are 4th in the league. Liverpool was 1 point away from winning the title last year, now they are in 9th place.

Are you saying Ten Hag is that superior to Klopp? One manager got the backing of their club to spend and the other manager didn’t.

Coming on here and telling it like it is don’t go down well mate I’m afraid. Some would rather see FSG not spending money and we slipping down the table.

I’d prefer to spend the money we make/have than to rely on owners to dip into their pockets so fans like you can fawn over new shiny toys. They’ve revamped Anfield (generally overlooked- huge expense and undertaking), brought a team from the brink to winning everything there is to win, hired the best coach in the game, all while being financially responsible. But yeah, we should have brought in more mids, so #FSGout.

It’s also Klopp and Co that decide where the money for new players go, not FSG.

I hate this short sighted whining and moaning. Take a step back and get a bit of perspective.

Is there literally anyone one on here who doesn’t want us to spend money on talent. There are some who are explaining the facts, doesn’t mean they don’t want to see a new CM.

No one’s going moan if they suddenly spent 60m on a CM bar the odd ones who over obsess on what funds we have available.

The problem is it’s never going to be enough for these.

FSG could front up £100m on signings this January, and for the #FSGout lads all it would take is Utd signing a player for them to demand another £100m.

I’m sick of it. I’m so, so, close to sacking off football. It’s having to share my support for the club with blerts who would celebrate spending 200m on players more than winning the European Cup. We used to fucking laugh at Everton for this.

These spend, spend, spend people make me laugh, when we don’t its FSG’s fault for being tight and blaming them for not giving a fuck or taking all our money. It’s like they are clueless about how the club is run or whats going on around us with the top teams in the Premier league.

I don’t think they understand that while we are being run sensibly and how a top football club should be run. It’s the arseholes we are competing against that are financially cheating or going massively into debt to get above us.

It wouldn’t suprise me that these same people will be up in arms if we got taken over by Saudi or Qatari owners. Thinking about it,they probably would’nt give a fuck aslong as they kept playing LFC like football manager on cheatmode, with unlimited cash.

They’d welcome it with open arms. Unlimited spending. In fact sack off the playing football bit, and just focus on what’s important. The two transfer windows. We need to spend more than Newcastle and Chelsea. That’s all that matters.

These are the kind of pricks who would genuinely have preferred us to spend £80m on Robbo rather than £8m. Anything to get the net spend up.

He played far better for England in a 3 when Hendo came back in the team and he was given more license to join further forward. How often does one of the double pivots arrive in the bix to score, I wouldn’t want to limit that as it is one of the reasons that makes him special

holy shit. what rock did you crawl out from under?

Well Elliott looks better!

Now look at the respective net spending of the two teams over the past 5 years or so and see if the pattern you have identified holds.

Net spending is just as a much an indicator of poor spending as it is commitment to success, or even success itself.

They might have their way soon enough if the Qataris take over and Jurgen leaves

Why on earth (and I really don’t get this) do other fans of YOUR club affect how you support them? Berks are berks, shouldn’t alter your views one jot.

You know you cannot take anyone seriously when all they want is to blame everything on the owners. The owners are not without blame, but this mess we are seeing with the team’s results and performances are a collective issue that needs to be solved, and if anyone thinks a singular decision to just keep buying would solve, then this person is playing football manager on a very old PC.
