Neves was Wolves’ best player by a country mile.

All I remember was moan moan moan.
Guy can fuck off along with his manager who is also a moaning cnut. Also half of those passes ended up offside anyhow.
Neves’ passing range is ridiculous, wonderful technique, consistency and variations.
A few years ago, I thought he stagnated a little bit and that’s most probably why he’s still at Wolves on the verge of 26. Especially as his senior career took off really fast, he was known really early at Porto (club captain at 18 or 19?).
But lately, I think he’s raised his level again, put himself on the market more.
Thing is, his best position is that deep zone and he’s not your “classic” defensive midfielder, but more of a playmaker.
So big clubs must wonder all the time if his defensive game, or ability to be a success in defensive transitions, is enough for a top club. Because in possession, there’s no doubt he can do it.
Perhaps more suited to a double-pivot structure.
like vvd but in cm
Can just imagine it goes down under easy challenge (not given more so with us), team breaks 0-1.
Matheus Nunes- yes he only made brief appearances but the eye test hurt my eyes. Brutal.
Klopp praised him post-match saying how he didn’t like it when we dropper deeper, Wolves pushing us, when Neves plays it changes and then when Nunes came on it’s “twice as difficult”.
FR tapping in something Joyce said days ago.
Neves is a playmaker, and could do the number 6 role for us in a midfield three with Bellingham and Nunes ahead. It all depends on the blend we are after, and the main formation we want to use moving forward.
June 2023: Wolverhampton Wanderers sign Jude Bellingham
Neves is the Portuguese version of Charlie Adam. Lovely passer of the ball and slower than molasses. Not as bad as fat Charlie adam, more like the blackpool version.
Edit: had a little think, maybe a bit harsh on Neves, but if you squint while you’re watching wolves, it looks an awful lot like a younger Charlie Adam running their midfield.
He’s definitely nowhere near as bad as that. He’s more like Xabi Alonso if he had a tough paper round.
Charlie Adam… jeez…
Ruben Neves is not that slow and he is very skilled. His technique with the ball is sublime. Quite similar to Trent in term of passing range.
No. I’m with you.
Are his corners and free kicks worth 10 million on their own?
Genuinely thought that was John Travolta for some reason. Very random, I know.

NEW: Liverpool are interested in Matheus Nunes and may make an enquiry to sign the midfielder in the coming months - just as this did last summer. #lfc [dominic king - mail]
Gutted I was expecting him to return and take us to the CL final
Get with the times, mate.
Bajcetic is the one taking us to Istanbul.
