The Unreliable Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Yeah, Wolves will likely land relatively comfortably in the end, even if they don’t find a pre-injury Jiménez. Lopetegui is a miserly fucker.

In re the Mbappe story above, that was going around last summer. Pretty sure it was just PSG listing clubs to which they’d be “willing” to sell, all of whom coincidentally hadn’t the cash or the inclination.

If I’m not mistaken it appears to have been the case season after season. The 3 teams with the lowest points total in the table end up finishing 18,19 and 20, and therefore are the 3 worst teams and get relegated to the Championship… Or am I imagining that ?

It reminds me of the old Everton poll, about where they will finish:

8th
8th
8th
8th but we’re better than that
8th
8th

Obviously these days Everton wish they were 8th!

Anyway, the three worst teams, over the course of the season, get relegated.

Like clockwork.

if everton get relegated it wont be because they are the worst 3 teams.

  1. its Rafa’s fault
2.the ‘redshite’ got at the refs
    3.Rafa did them.

In part it’s true, the 3 teams with the fewest points go down but for me there’s a case to be had that Leeds were worst than Burnley last season and shouldv’e gone down. We all know in games you can play well and still lose. I thought we were the best team in the league when we finished the 18/19 season 1 point behind them…didn’t win it, best team doesn’t always win.

We were the better team in the CL final last year…didn’t win the trophy.

Difference between deserving to go down and whether you were worst than someone else who were also deserving of going down, we can’t ignore the influence officials have to decide games.

Also Villa stayed up due to goal mouth technology not working.

My brother is a Villa fan. The following season he tried to have us over a contentious decision. I soon reminded him of Hawkeye keeping them up.

Yep, I was being facetious. Regarding any winner takes all game/one-off match, there’s a higher chance the “best” team on the day may not win (and who the best team is on any given day is very subjective anyway).

In my view, any team 13th or lower has a chance to go down as it stands and of those teams I would be surprised if Wolves ended up being one of them. Anyway, time will tell and wrong thread for this discussion :upside_down_face:

We want rumoooooouuuuurs! (unreliable or concrete)

Wow… 55 million pounds for a player who’s only just joined Brighton and barely had a full season in PL - and it’s still not enough for his signature. I don’t doubt his quality but that’s fleecing.

It’s also the last part of January…

Trossard’s sale was quality from Brighton’s point of view, so they probably feel they can now be more ambitious with Caicedo. If not now, maybe next summer when they can also prepare their incoming transfers/replacements better.

Que Brighton signing some known random Peruvian kid who goes on to be better than Trossard…

To be fair with the way Chelsea have been with them I would basically sell to anyone but them.

Mitoma could make that left side his own.

Up top, where Trossard was more used recently, we’ll see what they do, they’re a flexible side.
