He’s exactly a Mark Noble level of player + his set-pieces speciality. West Ham is probably the best he can get, while he’s objectivelly just about too good to remain in the Championship.

It’s in an article talking about what centre backs there are on the market that might suit Liverpool. Lists 4/5 of them. The premise of the piece is that we ideally need reinforcements at the back and that the profile we’re after would be young and left sided.
The line above is a throwaway line about how it may or may not happen.

We’re compensating for ignoring the 1st team by buying a bunch of youngsters. Don’t get me wrong, a couple of these lads might come good but they are a minimum of 3 years away from sniffing the senior squad.
