My guess is Mbaye has come through and his parents have seen him as a cash cow for the family. As a kid they have ‘looked after’ his best interests, likely with themselves in mind too, but without any expertise they have caused some ripples chasing the dough.
And now, as he is only 18, it looks like some order is being restored. He has signed with Mendes, who won’t put up with all that crap. He will surely tell his parents that the money will all be there as his career blossoms, but first and foremost his career has to blossom and they can’t keep acting in a way that damages relations with clubs.
After a bumpy start presumably the parents are on board, as their son is now with Mendes, who has a great relationship with numerous clubs, including LFC. He was Diogo Jota’s agent don’t forget.
So the story arc reads like promising kid starts to come through, snapped up by oil club, parents try to fill their boots, cause some ripples, oil club don’t need that and he’s down their pecking order too, super agent takes him on, order ensues, and now a proper move for the good of his career is on the cards, with the parents hopefully taking a supportive, but less active role.

Barcola and Ngumoha for the left; Mbaye and Munoz for the right; lots of versatility in the group, bring it on. I hope it all gets sorted asap.
And at least one defender. That is urgent.
Then the midfield might come into focus, depending on outgoing/s.
PS - If we sign both Barcola and Mbaye it might help with the fees too. In other words, PSG can claim a slightly higher fee was achieved for Barcola, and they pushed us all the way. They can also claim they got rid of a kid with disruptive parents, so for them it’s all good business.
For us we sign the both players for a combined fee we can live with, and the younger of the two is now with an agent who will steer him straight.
