We tried when we wanted Virgil and got nearly sued by Southampton then we had to apologise and wait another year before getting him.
We got him in the winter window of that season instead of the summer one.
Also they were more pissed off that the agreement we made with him prevented a bidding war with City.
Iād support bringing in Konsa. We need a player capable of stepping in as a starter short term and long term. If Leoni comes back strong and we see development from Ndukwe and Ndiaye, our center back situation is likely sorted for the next few years even with Virgilās anticipated departure.

I am concerned with the snailās pace to our negotiations, though. Hughes has been rumored to be assisting Al Hilal with some of their transfer business, which would boggle my mind. The season is starting in less than three weeks. Iām not one to rush, but we have a new manager and a desperate need for reinforcements in certain areas of the pitch.
This isnāt a luxury, like the Isak and Guehi approaches last summer, that we were fine waiting until deadline day to resolve.

Yes Mallorca are a good team even though they were relegated because they spanked PSG 3:0 .Mbaye had a good shot saved and Zabarnij was at fault for two of the three goals.
Thatās Ā£20m off his valuationā¦so by my calcuations, PSG would actually have to pay us to take him off them.

If you take 10m off the valuation of a defender for every goal they are at fault for then technically Real Madrid have massively over paid for Konate

Speaking of Real Madrid, Endrick supposedly told them he wants to leave today. Marca at least saying he has a bit of a challenge to get minutes as they signed a striker and want Diomande.

Some typical junk (Anfield Sector) or unknown (Hotspur Lane) are posting on twitter/X that LFC is interested in Djed Spence, Spurs is asking for Ā£35M+. Someone on reddit also posted that Spence has started following LFC social media account. So, there you go with another unreliable rumour.

Itās strange that we are āhappyā with signing players considered surplus at other clubs.
Barcola is possibly fourth choice for front three at PSG, and Mbaye maybe fifth. Before they sign someone else. Diomande would have shoved both down a bit maybe.
I would be happy with both though. They csn improve, and build successful careers here. Diomande might have been the primary target, but that ship has sailed and now looks messy anyway.
Iām less enthused about Endrick. I have a dislike since the sly smash on Konate that put him out for a period. Another unanswered abberation against us. And it might be just me, but he doesnāt look to be in the best physical condition? Might be body shape? But he looks unfit.
If he signs, Iāll obviously forgive and forget but I am not excited about any tenous link to him.
Spence as a full back option is a decent shout. He is strong and a good head on him. He would be a definite yes
