From what I saw he canāt cover either side. Heās a bit like Frimpong can add something on the wing if the game is played at pace. Defensively I thought he looked a liability except when recovering at pace. That isnāt what we need imo.
I doubt he gets anywhere near our squad if it wasnt for the fact he counts towards H/G status and can play on either side of the pitch.
Other than that i donāt see anything he improves compared to our other fullbacks

In fairness to Spence he has turned his career/life around a little bit. He was well known as a dick earlier in his career; doing idiotic things like donuts in the Leedsā parking lot while on loan there, going out of his way to make sure managers and teammates knew he wasnāt listening and didnāt care about their input. Walking when he was beaten defensively etc. Just generally a bad egg, bad player and bad teammate.
Now I donāt think heās very good at football but Iāll say that he does seem to have improved his attitude.
Is that enough for me to want to sign him? No. I donāt think heās very talented, at least compared to our level, and Iād rather work with Frimpong than sign a new FB who is basically the same player but with a hidtory of poor attitude and behaviour.

Iām seeing rumors of Aston Villaās CB/RB Konsa to Liverpool. The sticking point is a 60m pound pricetag for a 28 year old with 2 years left on his deal.
Feels like the price is inflated because he played pretty well in international football. He also fills a homegrown slot for us if signed. Is he worth the money? Maybe if Villa lowers their asking price a bit.
Iām not sure about him playing right back for Iraola, although you never know. And I think Tomori seems like a better stop gap type of solution, mainly because heāll be cheaper.
But, If Iraola thinks itās a good idea, Iām in. It doesnāt take much to get me on board with a potential signing, Iām largely a yes man. Most times Iāve watched him for Villa Iāve thought heās been good.
Iād rather us spend 60 million on Konsa than 30 on Spence.
It doesnāt work perfectly like that but Konsa would be an excellent Gomez replacement. Able to cover right back and center back at a good level while providing experience.
If we signed Konsa now and still could afford the buy back clause for Quansah next year that would be excellent squad planning.
Van Dijk, Konsa, Leoni, Jaquet this year and Konsa, Quansah, Leoni, Jacquet next year with Konsa and Quansah both able to fill in at right back if needed.

At the start of summer IĀ“d have beem pretty disappointed if we signed Konsa or Spence but weĀ“re entering the stage of them being good enough as better than nothing.
Stop gaps for a year or so.
It seems that the clubās plan is to have Jacquet starting with VVD. The problem with Konsa is that Konsa will want to start if he joins us as he is more senior to Jacquet/Leoni and already a regular PL starter for years. Konsaās selling point is that he can play both RB and CB so he is a perfect Gomez replacement.
OTOH, if we go for Tomori we will need to buy Spence. Keep in mind that without selling another non-HG player we only have one non-HG transfer left.
Iām not sure Iām following what youāre saying here. Tomori is HG, why would his signature force us to buy another HG player?
