Iāll give you arrogant or a bit selfish but lazy I canāt accept. He has consistently been in our top 5 for distance covered per game since joining the first team.

Where are these rumours from? I see this said in almost every topic about Curtis, I have never see it verified once with an incident or a specific person he managed to piss off.

Curtis is a top lad. Been close to a starting spot since he made it into the first team. Too good to be on our bench but not good enough to be a regular starter.
Weāre receiving a good amount of money for him and heās not joining a rival.

We saw the on field spat with Szobo over the captainās armband. Even if it was a storm in a tea cup, it should have been a storm in a tea cup in the dressing room. And there have been a few whispers about him not being overly nice to people.
As outsiders weāve no way of knowing any of that stuff.

De Zerbi left only about 2 weeks after his first game, and Marseille as a club went into chaos with lots of additional changes behind the scenes. Itās a pretty shit situation to be in as a player with only a couple of months left on a short term loan deal and the new manager seemingly tried to stabilize the situation with players who didnt already have one foot out of the door.

Correct, his role is an extra body in the form of a senior pro who can fill in a couple places. We could manage without but if thereās space in the squad thatās his role.
Even now with the Jones news itās a case of a lot of people not really rating him but needing a replacement as Nyoni isnāt enough.
Maybe itās the optimist in me recognising the criticism more as it chimes against what I feel. That is the squad was better than it showed last season and thatās why the manager has gone but all those players who won us a title havenāt turned to shit and none of the players we bought last summer performed as well as expected.

Van Dijk was bad last season, but some of these arenāt fit to lace his boots even now.
