The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 5)

Pretty sure he said the same when only Chiesa arrived.

Punditry is atrocious, look at some of the Spurs stuff and then watch them Saturday, watch how no one mentions Chelsea’s glaring issue in goal now for several seasons.

He should have taken one of the offers from clubs on the continent. Aston Villa was a terrible decision and he and the club are paying the price.

Harvey’s obviously had a lot of offers from McDonalds and KFC, the little dumpling. Shed some lumber Harvey boy and join Salah’s gym club and maybe you might get a game.

Btw, Carragher is an absolute gobshite who will say anything if it gets him attention.

Carra makes Neville sound reasonable.

A year left on his deal, let’s see if it’s a permanent deal or a loan with basically him leaving on a free next summer, like Ramsay.

If we are letting them go for buttons, I’d like to see sell-on clauses inserted. Bajcetic looked like a potential world-beater when he was breaking into the side. Ok, injuries and a lot of time has elapsed since then, but if he plays and gets it back, he could go on to be a very good player indeed, and bigger clubs than Celta Vigo will be in for him.

Harvey Elliott looked a smashing little player when he was seeing some action under Klopp, and feeling the love. In all likelihood the lack of elite athleticism will hold him back from being a top player, but there’s talent there, and I would love to see him make his mark in the game.

Sell-on clauses for both should be part of this.

Celta Vigo are looking for us to terminate his contract a year early to sign him so it would be a free transfer of an unattached player, no fee or clauses.

For Elliott no one has made an offer for the club to be able to negotiate any sell on.

This is just sad…Hughes should have sold him straight up when Elliott had that POTT for the U21 world cup.

I already got caught out by that one …

oh ok…

Yeah that would have been the time to sell, and the club thought they had but the Villa PSR fiddle of loan to buy backfired and he came back twice the player he was before the loan, unfortunately in body mass not ability

Would turn this into a very good window.

We would likely see an exit for Gakpo, which would sting as he is a good player, but it would make sense with the incoming above, especially if we needed to balance the books a bit.

We would see an exit of players who are not going to make it, and there will be a few in this bracket in addition to Bajcetic.

We would see a couple of judicious loans for youngsters who need to play and develop.

And Iraola would start to harness things with his coaching, and my expectation would be that we would get stronger as the season progresses, with some thrilling displays along the way, and also some teething problems.

If it pans out something like that, bring it on!
