Camara is another bloody midget. With him, Frimpong, Wirtz and Kerkez we’d be shit at defending set pieces, but would have a decent chance at getting the ring to Mordor.

That’s a good point, but I assume Camara’s height would mean he won’t be key to defending set pieces in the middle of the box. That would be Van Dijk, Araujo, Jacquet, Leoni when fit, Ndukwe when he’s back, etc. We have a lot of big, strong units who will be in there. Camara’s role, if we sign him, will likely be to offer more solidity in the middle of the park. He can play, too, which obviously is a prerequisite.

Yeah, physically he is tough but Wiki has him at only 5’8". I think the main push back on that is that while both Dom and Grav are much taller, neither them really add much in the way of defensive strength on set pieces. Same with Alex. So it maybe doesnt address a specific perceived weakness, but I dont think it makes us worse in that regard.
It’s an interesting move because while he isn’t a 6 in the sense it is often used, from what I know of him he does play with that tenacity and defensive commitment that people are maybe thinking we;re missing when they talk about wanting a DM.

Some of the best holding midfielders were shorter - Masch, Kante, Vitinha. They don’t have to be Fabinho to be effective.

Technically both of our last two permanent signings have been quite last minute with Jacquet all but on his way to Chelsea and Munoz with one foot in Newcastle already.
Possibly the third right wing alternative option that has been mentioned if Minteh/Mbaye doesn’t work out?
